"Hello, Nan."

The older woman's heart skipped with surprise at the deep, resonating voice that emanated from her open window. When she turned towards the source, her eyes widened in disbelief at the figure of a young man standing there – someone she had once seen as a small boy. Her knitting needles stilled as she adjusted her glasses to make sure her vision wasn't playing tricks on her, and sure enough, there he was—her handsome first-born grandson. Her lips curved upwards into a warm smile, and her voice murmured gently as she uttered his name, "Robin."

The blonde-haired young man gave his dear grandmother a warm, tearful smile that creased his dimpled cheeks. He was incredibly relieved to see her alive and well, her wrinkles and greying hair a testament to the years she had endured. Yet despite the passing of time, he could still see his mother in her kind smile and sky-blue eyes.

Robin fondly reminisced about the final moments he shared with his grandmother. He had been a mere seven-year-old lad, and she would read him and his younger brother stories about their grandfather, the heroic knight of Stablewood with a lionheart.

When his beloved mother tragically passed away, his grandmother suddenly disappeared without a word, leaving him filled with rage and resentment at the abrupt absence of two women he had deeply admired and loved.

He never discovered the truth behind his grandmother's disappearance until a heated confrontation with his father, during which his father alleged that his grandmother had been the sole cause of his mother's death and banished her from the kingdom of Sherwood.

"She has no place here! That wretched woman was responsible for your mother's passing. I won't ever permit her in my kingdom again!"

Despite his father's adamant claims that his grandmother was responsible for his mother's untimely demise, Robin refused to accept a single word of it.

So, he ran.

After seven arduous years of wandering, he finally kept his promise to himself to reunite with his beloved Nan. Along his journey, he encountered many loyal mates and kind-hearted people who had been instrumental in his quest. He was satisfied to have left his former life as a prince behind him and embarked on this new and exhilarating adventure.

As his grandmother rose from her rocking chair, he rushed over to her and embraced her tightly, his love and longing for her overwhelming him beyond expression.

Rainy was taken aback by the force of his embrace but welcomed it all the same. She held him close for a while, then stepped back and marveled at how much he had grown. Cupping his chin and feeling the newfound stubble he had grown, she gazed into his clear blue eyes, so reminiscent of his mother's, and said, "Oh my, look at you! You have grown so much, my dear grandson." Her eyes started to mist over as she saw that the small boy she once knew had blossomed into a strong and handsome young man.

Robin's eyes welled up with emotion, and a tear trickled down his cheek as he choked out the words, "I've missed you so much, Nan."

Rainy tenderly wiped away her firstborn grandchild's tear with her thumb, then tightly grasped his hands, her tears brimming at the surface.

But then she eyed him suspiciously, her smirk widening as she realized he had just clambered in through the window of the maiden's wing. "You didn't really just climb in through that window, did you?" she asked, arching an eyebrow.
