*Emma's pov*

Strange bird noises echoed around me.

'did I...leave the window open...again'

I tossed around and rolled over on to my other side. I opened my eyes slightly to see many blur gold lines in front of me. I blinked a few times and then looked down to see more of the lines neatly straighten together.

I fell onto my back and laid like that. I saw how the gold lines met one another above me, and above them, birds flew in circles in a bright blue sky.

I glanced to my left and a million pretty flowers were scattered around. It was the same on my right. The floor was stoned but the one I laid on was the same colour as the lines around me.
I looked back at the clear sky and took in the scenery above me. The cool breeze was refreshing and the warm light felt nice on my skin.

'where...am I ?'

I slowly rose up, and realised how thick the bars were in front of me. I leaned in closer and held each one of them in my hands as I peered out the gap in between.

The birds were everywhere, I had never seen such beautiful birds ever. They were bright and really big, and there was just so many of them. A few flew down to inspect me, they were curious about me just as much as I was curious about them.

Up close , they seemed even bigger. Almost the size of my entire arm or more. They weren't Eagles, or falcons or hawks or any big bird I knew.

They were green, and their feathers had a sparkle to them. Their wings were really long and their beaks were twice the normal average size.

I assumed they couldnt talk, since they just whistled sweet tunes and flew about. It was strange , but the birds weren't the only thing that was weird.

As I looked closer to where I was seated. I started realising that I was in somewhat of a cage. A really big bird cage. The bars were thick and strong. I was inches off the ground, not hung up though, just that the base was really thick.

I tried moving around , attempted shaking the cage a bit but it was so heavy, I alone couldn't move it by myself. I had the 'almost' smart idea to get this thing on one side and roll around to find a key...

But that was the more odd part...

There wasn't a lock to begin with...

I started searching the cage , to find something, a door perhaps, but there was none.

'how did I get inside , if there's no door?'

I checked the cage again, seeing how it was welded together pretty normal, so then how...

"Looking for a way out?"

A voice came from behind me. I was terrified to turn around, but I had to see who it was. It felt like I was forced by temptation to know who it was.

I turned around to see a man leaning on an old broken pillar that stood meters away from me. He had sharp features and although the tree on the other side shaded him, I was still able to guess a smirk on his face.

As the man stepped into the light, the birds immediately flew away and sat on a tree , watching a scene unfold.

I watched as he approached, the sunlight kissed his features and his black hair appeared shiny. As he grew near, I witnessed an abnormal glint in his eyes. They burned bright blue and almost evil.

"I was starting to get worried , that you wasn't waking up. Guess you're still too young to handle sedatives."

'did he ... sedate me...why'
