I. Chapter 13
Evelyn Maia Silva

When there are unspeakable things in Evelyn's mind, she would make herself useful in the kitchen. Nobody else in her family knows how to cook, she didn't mind making meals for her mom and sister, she enjoyed it more than she saw it as a chore. Whether it was cooking or baking, preparing the meals at the end is her favorite part of it all. There was just something about cooking she loved. It kept her hands busy, her mind running about the proper measurements and whatnot. There would always be a triffle of dropping thoughts in her mind, what she did the other day, what she should do next week, when she would do the groceries or if she should just ask Luna to do it to keep her productive. Her bedroom wouldn't be a competition to how much she loved working in the kitchen.

Now, she just came out of her room, immediately wanting to make homemade pizza while drinking a glass of red wine. Most people would kill her for putting ice cubes in her glass but she was at home alone with nothing better to do but cook. Her mom was at work, nothing new and her sister went over to a friend's place. It's saturday and Evelyn finished most of her school works yesterday night and fell asleep almost immediately when she finished it all. The only thing keeping her at her toes was that kiss with Rosalie Hale.

Thinking about it- About her is mind fulfilling. It keeps her mind away to the fact that Luna told their mother about her plans with her father about Oxford. That was after the kiss, when they came home, Luna unloaded a series of words to their mom about how she should prevent it from happening because it was unnecessary when it was. Evelyn didn't know what to say, she wanted to assure her sister that it's not for another few more months and she hasn't even heard back from the University yet which was dumb. Luna knows how smart her sister is, she can get into any University she wants, Oxford was definitely going to email her acceptance letter by the end of the month.

Her neck cramps, Evelyn sighs a little as she stretches lightly while grabbing tomato and garlic from the fridge, as well as some sliced up salami from the freezer.

The dough is already complete and Evelyn's been stalling on making the pizza sauce since she begun as it was the most complicated one she was going to do. Until the doorbell rings that caught her attention. Ultimately, she was willing to ignore it as she wasn't open to the idea of entertaining alone but the better mind that she has prevented her from doing so, making her sigh and take off the apron covered in flour.

"Edward?" Evelyn wasn't expecting anyone, let alone the boy standing in front of him with a greeting smile, hands burried in his pockets.

"Hi. Can we talk?"

If this were any other day, she would welcome him with open arms. "Yeah, of course." Evelyn says warmly, opening the door further, "Come in."

"Thank you. Sorry for dropping by without calling."

"It's okay, I have no plans today anyways." Evelyn assures with a smile, leading him to the kitchen before the food she took out the fridge goes bad. "Except cooking. Which I seem to do a lot these days." She chuckles, pointing at him slightly before approaching the countertable filled with potent ingredients.

"I'm sure my family and I would've enjoyed your cooking." Edward glazed over the table and felt nothing. It irked him a lot when this happens. He remembered what it was like to eat food as a human, but not what it tastes like. He only eats it now to cover up the fact it tastes like garbage in the school cafeteria.
