Niki's pov

I stopped by my locker and then waited for Jake beside me.

"What's taking so long?"
I peeked behind the open door.

He had a whole teddy bear in his right hand while reading a note in his left. I peered over at the note out of curiosity.

Note: A teddy, cute like you ;) I hope you like this cuddly bear.

"Are you so delusional to the point that you put a teddy bear and note for yourself in your own locker?"
I put a hand on his shoulder.

"Man, wake up. We're graduating soon"
I said disappointedly.

"This isn't from me bro. Look at the handwriting, it's neat, unlike mine. It's from D??"
He replied.

"D? Has she or he been doing this everyday?"
I wiggled my brows.

"Shut up, it's clearly a girl's handwriting"
He raised a warning hand.

"For the past week, I've been getting these items and notes in my locker. It's different every day but they're all from the same person, D"
Jake put back the teddy bear and closed his locker.

"Okay but how would they know your locker combination anyway?"
Whoever D is...they give off stalker energy.

"Do I look like Einstein to you No yea according to my calculations"
He deadpanned.

"Okay then maybe it's a prank. They'll stop when they don't get any response from you"
I told him.

"Fine"
Jake sighed.

(In class)

Daeun's pov

The classroom grew quiet as we were focused on the mock test in front of us. I was still stuck on the same problem even after 5 minutes.

My leg started shaking because the phrasing of the question was just messing with my thought process.

"What are you so stressed for? It's a mock test"
A voice asked.

I made sure that the teacher was still focusing on her computer screen and then turned to Niki who was slumped in his chair, arms folded.

"You're done with the paper?"
I asked quietly.

"I left whatever I don't know blank. I'll just write corrections. Easy, Daeun"
He shrugged his shoulders.

Maybe I should just leave it blank, time is running out and not a single equation was written out.

I continued the next few questions, trying my best for the rest of the paper.

15 minutes later

"Okay I'll be collecting the papers. Pass them down to the first person in your row"
-Teacher

I squeezed in one last final answer and handed my paper in.

"Relax, it's not that bad"
Niki twirled a pen between his finger.

"Not bad for an idiot"
I stuck my tongue out at him.

"Yea Niki, idiot"
Jake jumped into the conversation.

He didn't react to my comment but when Jake opened his mouth, Niki turned around so dramatically, giving him a blank stare.

"You dare, Jaeyun. You dare"
Niki said in a threatening voice.

"Yes I do"
Jake looked away, his bottom lip pouting out.

"Jake is so cute, awww"
Niki brought a finger to his cheek and poked it.

Jake smacked it away and I let out a short chuckle.

"Honestly, I could agree with Niki on this one. It was kinda cute when you did that face"
I looked at Jake.

"No way. Definitely not"
Annoyance was plastered on Jake's face.

"You're just in denial"
I faced the front again, pulling in my chair.

(Last period)

"Niki, do you wanna walk home toge-"
I stopped when I noticed Niki lying his head down while already looking at me.

"Yes"
His answer was almost instant.

"Don't look at me like that, I look horrible from that angle"
I took the worksheet on his desk and placed it above his face.

"Why does that matter? It's you that I'm looking at"
The paper slowly slid off his face, revealing only his eyes.

"But I..."
I just wasn't expecting that from Niki.

He sat up straight, leaning his weight against his hand placed on the side of the chair.

"You? You're beautiful"
Niki whisper-shouted.

He pulled away, a bright, yet cheeky smile on his lips. I bit my inner cheek because Niki managed to press my smile button.

And maybe my blush button too.

I felt someone kicking the back of my chair and Niki seemed to have felt it too. Obviously, Jake.

Jake started mocking us, putting his hands near his face to resemble a flower while smiling like a toddler. I blinked at his dumb actions, emotionless.

Sometimes, I wonder why Yena likes him.

"Just say you're single"
Niki teased.

My ears perked up at that.

That doesn't imply that Niki and I are together, right? Or...is he with someone else?
