"Are you okay? You look like you just saw a ghost" Charles came up to her, but Diana was staring in her phone so intensely she didn't see him, so he scared her when he spoke up.
"Yeah, I'm... I'm fine" Diana lied, she didn't want Charles to know someone somehow got her private phone number and threatened her. She tried to smile, but it wasn't as convincing as she would want it to.
"I'm going back to my hotel, wanna join?" He asked, but by the look on Diana's face he suspected she's not in the mood anymore.
"Thanks, but I'd rather go back to my room and rest. I'm really tired"
It was practically true. In situations like this Diana always looked for even a little bit of truth in her sentences because she hated to lie and couldn't do it properly. It was always really visible and she didn't want Charles to think she's hiding something from him.
But of course, Diana was hiding something.
"Okay. Would you let me drive you?" Charles was trying anything to spend some more time with Diana.
"Actually, I've already asked Pierre. We're staying at the same hotel, yours is the other way" Diana felt extremely bad saying it, she knew Charles' intentions were pure but she couldn't risk telling him about the text or the account.
"Yeah, right, that makes sense. I'll see you tomorrow then"
Charles seemed subdued, he didn't even kiss Diana on the cheek like he always used to. He just walked away with his head down and hands in the pockets, wondering if what happened earlier that day between him and Diana had something to do with the way Diana was acting.
When Charles left, the blonde immediately called Pierre to ask for a ride. If Pierre won't pick up or if he was already in the hotel, she would need to call a taxi or take a walk which didn't feel safe in her situation.
"I was just reading your text, is this account for real?" Pierre answered his phone almost immediately.
"Yeah, we'll talk about it later. Where are you?" Diana didn't waste any time on small talk.
"I was just leaving, why?" Pierre sensed a weird vibe from Diana.
"Great, I'm going with you"
Diana and Pierre met right by the car he rented. They hugged a little longer than usual. Pierre didn't have time to look on Twitter for the account Diana sent him, but from what he could see on the screenshot he figured she might need a little extra comfort.
"So, tell me what's going on" He said when they were driving away from the circuit.
Diana told him about what she read on the profile and Pierre was shocked. He was aware that Charles had many female fans, but it was incomprehensible for him that someone could do something like this.
And she didn't get to the best part yet.
"So as I was reading that, I also got this text" Diana showed him the screen of her phone when they were walking to her room.
Pierre looked at it, then at her and at the phone again. He was flabbergasted to the point he stopped walking.
"That's creepy as fuck" He summed up. "Do you have any idea who might've send that?"
"No, not really" She answered. She didn't have any enemies, she always tried to be kind to people. "I mean, I was dating one guy that turned out to be toxic, extremely jealous and stuff but I was a teenager back then and I don't think he would do it. That's probably just a crazy fan thinking she would have a chance with Charles if I wasn't in the picture" Diana shrugged. She really tried to justify it.
