Chapter 13

I finished the paperwork and stacked into a pile. I silently slid to the corner of the desk.
I stood up grabbed my bag that laid on the ground. I looked at Hibari and froze. He had my jacket...and my hat...and my scarf...and everything I need to keep warm.
Tch.
I smiled down at his emotionless sleeping face.
I walked to the back.
Stuck my foot at the top of the couch and then I tilted the couch knocking him into the floor.
He rose up dusting himself off and glared at me as I continued my false smile.
"Rise and shine...you annoying lark."
He looked slightly shocked and I grabbed my outer clothing and turned to leave.
Stupid middle schoolers making me do their work.
"No you can't hit me. Afterall I finished your paperwork." I said with disdain "Bye."
I left the room.

"No. No. No. You can't make me...how did you get into my apartment. No."
Kaori, Aki-sensei's girlfriend stood at the edge of the bed.
"Get out of bed. Wake up. At least you're not with Reborn. He let you off of forest training to do this."
I got up.
"Good, now pack your bags."
"...What?"

"We're going someplace special."
I sighed of course. I shifted the backpack on my back.
I stood in the airline shop sleepily.
I heard a fluttering from above.
"I think the helicopter is ready."
"Huh?"
"Grab her."
Aki-sensei and Kaori grabbed me carrying me to the helicopter.
"Wait! Stop! Where are we going? Please tell me you are not going to push me out of it."
They paused.
"Why would we push you out of an aircraft?"

I incoherently mumbled under my breath thinking of Jilian.

I settled in my seat next to the window besides Aki-sensei and Kaori. I peered out of the window curiously.
"Where are we going?"
"We're heading for an island south of here. Kaori and I got a mission for a sniper there. School breaks are when I usually get missions from the mafia."
Sniper? Oh dear lord please tell me the joking. I am not ready to kill somebody.
Seeing my horrified expression, they burst out into laughter.
"We're just kidding Nika. We're heading there for the annual Famiglia vs Famiglia gun battle...and Winter Ball."
"Will I sustain life threatening injuries?"
"Most likely."
"How is that any better?"
"Don't worry, you'll be with me and Kaori. It's Kaori's second time. We have a pretty damn good medical team if I do say so myself."
Oh joy. That totally puts my soul to peace.
"What about deaths?"
"Well these battles are to release the tension between the famiglias soooo...yea. Sometimes."
I never thought such words would appear in my thoughts.
I think it would be better to be with Reborn right now.

Tch. No wonder he let me out of his training.

I opened my mouth to ask another question, but Aki-sensei handed me a paper. I accepted it and started reading.

Famiglia vs Famiglia
Annual Gun Battle
Crearma vs Difuce
Division: Young Adults
An annual gun battle between two of the best weaponry famiglias.
Rules:
1:Each Famiglia must split into teams of 3.
2:Maximum of 30 teams per famiglia .
3:Weapons used must be created by the members within the team.
Exception:Small accessories and equipment. Ex:Scope, Bullets, Knives.
4: No bombs/mines
Exception:Grenade Launchers and Bazookas
5:Minimum Age- 13
Maximum Age- 29
6:No alliances between opposing teams.
7:Knife battles/Hand to hand combat allowed.
8:No serious fighting should occur before or after the Gun Battle between the famiglias.
Time limit: 3 days
If caught cheating, the cheater would be unqualified to join the following year's battle.
Participants must be blood related or a member of the Famiglia.
Exceptions:
-Spouses/Significant other
-Apprentices
-Those allowed by both bosses
There is one Preparation time period and two rounds.
Round 1) Famiglia vs Famiglia
Round 2)Initiates after only one Famiglia remains. Team vs Team initiates.
Prizes: Top Famiglia- Gun Battle Cup Division YA
Top Group- $100,000USD + Medals
If both Famiglia survive to the end, Famiglia with most teams still standing wins.
In the case of which multiple teams are still active from the winning Famiglia, number of "kills" is taken into consideration.

I glanced up at Aki-sensei.
"You're not 30?"
"No of course not you brat, I'm 27!"

...that's the same age as me before I was reincarnated. Well then.
...Oh my god. I act like such a middle school brat now.
'Yup. Well you are one soooo...'
I grimaced.

"Oh. Why did you choose me to be part of your team."
He laughed nervously.
"Hehehehe. Because you're my apprentice."
"Just tell her the truth."
He sighed,"Okay so I royally screwed up two years ago."
I waited for more clarity.
"The boss requested that I not participate last year and now the only person without a team is my beloved Kaori. All the others stuck with their team from last year. It wasn't even my fault! I was sabotaged! That damn Daichi switched out the metals to build the gun. Well I can handle any metal now, but that was two years ago. I lost horribly."
"Other teams had metals switched out too, but they all just dropped out didn't even try."
"Daichi got caught and banned but he's back this game."
I shrugged.
"So let's win this year."
"Yes. Yes. I am Akira, master of all guns and there's the amazing Kaori. Plus this time we have this too overpowered little sniper on our team too."
"I am not little."
"Oh trust me when we get there you'll be tiny in comparison to the others."
Tch.
"Let's win! Squadra Vendetta Vincente!"
"What?"
"...Team Vendetta."
Kaori smiled.
"Alright hands in the middle!"
Aki-sensei and Kaori placed their hands in a pile.
I looked at determined faces and smiled, placing my hands on theirs.
"TEAM VENDETTA!"

Tsuna looked around.
"Doesn't Nika usually show up for the big training sessions?"
"Oh, Reborn let her off." Dino answered.
"Ehhhh! Why is she let off?"
"She's in a gun fight against another family right now. I think it's on the mafia vacation island south from here."
"..Oh."
Tsuna shivered.
I am so lucky to be with Reborn...thats such a weird thing to say.
