The past few days were something Brinley desperately needed, after everything that happened with Davina and everything she's been through the last few months Klaus decided it would be a good idea if they went on a small vacation.

After the failed harvest ritual the witches were too busy to worry about Brinley leaving town so they took advantage of it and Klaus took her to Maine, after overhearing her talking to Rebekah about how she always wanted to go there and stay in a cabin in the woods.

So that's what they did it was 4 days of complete bliss, there were no worries. No witches trying to kill her and the twins, no vampires starting rebellions, or crybaby hybrids searching for revenge.

It was just her and Klaus together enjoying the peace and quiet. But as always, all good things must come to an end.

Brinley pouted the whole way back to New Orleans, which Klaus found funny but didn't dare say anything.

"Why can't we just run away and never come back?" Brinley asked as they pulled up outside the compound

"Because this is our city now love, I'm the king which makes you the queen and our boys the prince's. Everything here belongs to us." Klaus smirked leaning over to place a kiss on Brinley's lips making her melt

"I've always wanted to be royalty. We're like Kate and William just instead of ruling England you rule the supernatural community." Brinley teased and Klaus chuckled

As Klaus pulled into the compound, Brinley furrowed her brows when she saw a man standing outside looking at their car like he was waiting for them.

"Who's that?" Brinley asked as Klaus parked

"That is Marcels old pal, Thierry." Klaus smirked and Brinley looked at him with furrowed brows

"The one you set up when we were looking for Elijah?" Brinley asked and Klaus nodded. "What's he doing here?"

"Call it a peace offering." Klaus said getting out of the car and walking around to open Brinley's door

Brinley smiled at him and held his hand as Klaus led her towards the entrance where Thierry was waiting.

"Thierry." Klaus greeted making the other vampire clench his jaw
