Attending mass with Klaus and Marcel is not something Brinley would've ever thought she would do. Growing up her parents were Baptists so that was the church she grew up in, she had never been to a Catholic church before.

This was the first mass that Father Kieran has held since the infamous massacre that took place. Klaus had informed Brinley that it was Cami's twin brother who killed all those people because of a hex that was placed on him by the witches. Brinley sat quietly between Klaus and Marcel watching Father Kieran preach his sermon.

"Thank you all for coming. It means more than I can tell you. We gather today for the first public service of our newly reopened church. St. Anne's can finally once again be the heart of our community, where we can congregate as a people united. Here, this hour, we come together to praise God and give thanks. The events that took place at our church were tragic." Father Kieran spoke to the congregation

Brinley glanced over to Marcel and saw him staring at a woman, she couldn't get a good look at her because of all the other people but she did see a flash of red hair.

"Problem?" Klaus asked Marcel, leaning over Brinley slightly

"No." Marcel cleared his throat

"Then pay attention. We're meant to seem like devoted parishioners." Klaus scolded and Brinley elbowed him in the side

"Both of you hush, you're being disrespectful." Brinley hissed quietly making the two men shoot her a look before sighing and turning back to the front

"...and it is that hope in our hearts, and with the help of many benefactors, that allows us to be here today. So, we gather with renewed spirit, made stronger, committed to the ideals of peace and love. Amen." Father Kieran continued speaking

"Amen." The church attendants echoed

After the mass was over Brinley held Klaus' hand as they let the other members leave before them, Father Kieran was standing out front talking to each member as they left. The trio stopped in front of Father Kieran once it was just the four of them making the priest sigh.

"Lovely sermon this morning, Father. Quite inspirational." Klaus said dropping Brinley's hand to instead wrap his arm around her waist
