The smell of espresso gently tickles Sera's nose and stirs her sleep, she thought nothing of it and turned around in her bed, attempting to fall back asleep. Just when she was on the edge of unconsciousness, the mumbling voices in her kitchen fully woke her up.

Who the heck is in my kitchen?

She sat herself up in her bed, slightly alarmed but not really because it could be anyone from Wes, who had a key, to any of her family members, who also had a key.

She looked at the time on her phone, it was nine in the morning. Why was anyone in her kitchen at nine?

Grogginess slowed down her movements, practically dragging herself outside her bedroom to see who it is. When she finally got to the kitchen, all kind of movement completely halted as she looked at the faces.

Plural.

"Look who finally decided to wake up." Her sister says , flipping her hair behind her and leaning on Sera's kitchen counter.

Sera moved her gaze from her sister to her sister's fiancé in astonishment.

"W-what are you guys doing here?" She asked, her sleepy mind still not working properly.

"Well, since our little sister doesn't really respond to our texts or calls us back, we thought might as well go check on her, see if she's alive, you know?"

Elena never failed to be sassy even if it was Nine AM.

And why is she cooking in my kitchen?

"Uhh..."

"Good to see you are, though." Tristan said, picking up an apple from a basket and playing with it in his hands, "Alive, I mean." He took a loud, obnoxious bite.

"Why are you guys raiding my kitchen?" Sera had a look of disgust on her face as she went to take the apple from Tristan's hand and snatch a coffee mug from Elena's.

"I already took a bite from that."

"I need a mug for the coffee I made."

They both said in unison. Sera only stared at them, a slight look of confusion and horror on her face.

"No, what are you guys doing here?" She turned the apple and the mug away when Tristan tried snatching it back.

"We already told you."

"That doesn't mean you could just pay me a visit!"

"Why the fuck not?"

Tristan was still trying to take his apple back from Sera's hand but failing.

"Do you just show up unannounced to your friends' houses when they don't reply to you?" Sera asks as she runs away from Tristan, holding the apple closer to her chest.

"She doesn't have friends." He says, running after Sera.

"That's different, you're my sister." Elena says at the same time as Tristan.

"Not the last time I recalled." Sera runs around the couch from Tristan.

"What?" Elena mumbles in confusion.

"Ugh, could you guys just stop being babies for a minute?" Elena yells, staring wide eyed at her fiancé and sister. They both stop in the middle of the living room, it was only separated from the kitchen by a counter, which Elena was standing next to.

"Tristan, you were on my side when we were on our way here." Elena switched her gaze to him.

"I still am, she took my apple!"

"You came into my apartment unannounced and raided my kitchen!"

"You're my sister-in-law!"

"Not yet, I'm not." Sera mumbles under breath.

"Shut up, the wedding's in literally a month."

"Not if I do something about it."

"What did you just say?"

"Fucking hell." Elena rolls her eyes, the coffee machine beeps behind her and she goes to check it, done with the conversation.

Tristan seizes the moment of distraction and snatches the apple back from Sera, she only huffs at him, placing the mug on the counter and taking a seat.

"Dad asked about you." Elena says after a while, her back still to Sera and Tristan as she continued making her coffee.

"Sure, he did." Sera mutters.

"He really did." Tristan assures.

"He was wondering what are you gonna do after you graduate." Elena turns toward them, sipping her coffee with her eyes still on Sera.

"Move far away from you guys, somewhere none of you could find me." Sera meant for it to come out sarcastically but it came out sad and gloomy instead.

"We'd probably still find you."

She was going to slap this man.

"Good luck with that." She responds.

"Don't you have classes?" Elena asks.

Sera's gaze moves to the clock in the living room and her eyes go wide.

"Oh, shoot!" She gets up from her chair hurriedly, "I'm supposed to be at the office." She mumbles to herself, running toward her bedroom to get ready.

"Office?" Elena looks at Tristan in confusion, he just shrugs.

"I'm doing an internship." Sera yells back from inside.

"Is she joking?" Elena mutters to him, Tristan again shrugs.

"Where?" She asks, her eyes still on Tristan as they wait for an answer back.

"None of your business."
