•People say that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) used to fast on
Monday because he was born on that day. And then they justify Eid-e-Milad with this.
The submission is that it is true that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to fast on Mondays. But it should also be remembered that the same hadiths also mention fasting on Thursday.

•It is in Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Nasa'i (classed sahih by lbn
Hibban) that the Prophet(ﷺ) Used to try to fast on
Mondays & Thursdays.
Whereas in Nasai and Abu Dawud (classed sahih by lbn
Khuzimah) it is said that the Prophet(ﷺ) said on the
question of Hazrat Osama (radhi Allahu anhu) that on
Mondays & Thursdays, the deeds of the servants are
presented before Allah and I like that My actions
should be recorded while l am fasting.[Sahih Bukhari 3264]

•And in Sahih Muslim and Tirmidhi, same reason is
mentioned for fasting on Monday & Thursday.
And also in a Hadith of Muslim (1162), it is mentioned
about fasting on Monday. The Prophet(ﷺ) said that:...
"That is a day on which l was born and on it my
mission began - or Revelation came to me."

•From all these ahadith, it becomes clear that the main
reason for fasting on Monday & Thursday is the presentation of deeds. And the additional reason (for fasting on Monday only) was that the Prophet(ﷺ) was born on that day.Now the point to ponder is that if the
fasting of the Prophet(ﷺ) was only due to his birthday,
then he would only fast on Mondays. And would
have fast on Monday once a year, which was in accordance with his birthday , not every week.

•And it is not proven that the Holy Prophet(ﷺ) ever
fasted on Rabi-ul-Awal(9 or 12), which is the day of his birth.
Therefore, if a person fasts on this day every year with this intention, it is as if he is leading the Prophet (ﷺ), making Shariah &  Naudhubillah (نعوذ با لله) teaching Sharia
to the Prophet (ﷺ).

•If you do not celebrate this annual celebration,
it will not be a sin. However, if in the hereafter you
come to know that this was innovation then what
will happen? Do you have any idea?
Read on in this heart-wrenching hadith...

He(ﷺ) then said: I will be the forerunner of the people
(of my ummah) at the Haudh of Kauthar and some of
you will come towards me when I bow down to give
them (the water of the pool) then they will be drawn
away from me. I will say O my Lord! These are the
people of my Ummah. Allah Taala will say, "You dont
know what new things they brought out in the religion
after you.". Bukhari 7049 & Muslim 2295)
