"Y/N! NICE GOAL!" Isagi shouted, running up to you as you turned and smiled. The rest of Blue Lock eleven starters cheered for you. Even though you technically weren't part of the blue lock eleven starters, you happened to pass by the practice rooms and watched in awe.

Since the teams were split into 5-6, you also didn't mind to help and balance the players out. "I'll be sure to block your goal next time, Y/n." Gagamaru appeared behind you as you chuckled. "I'm sure you will!" You told him.

"Water.." Nagi mumbled, his back slouched as he looked like he was about to tip over. Everyone then starts to look around for it. Turns out, they had forgotten to bring some before they started practice...

"Yo, can someone get water?" Yukimiya asked, taking off his glasses that he wears while playing soccer.

"I'll get it!" You cheered, Isagi tried to come with you but you told him to rest. You quickly rushed out of the practice rooms to go to the cafeteria to get the waters.

During that, Ego was watching the whole game. Sighing while he saw you run to get the waters alone. How were you suppose to carry 12 water bottles?! He found you insane for how selfless you were.

Besides that, you were an amazing player in blue lock. Able to think on the spot and have creative ways to help others score flashy goals. You were able to pass long distances while being insanely accurate. Your dribbling skills were also on par with Bachira's. Ego can't lie that you weren't a great asset. It was a shame that you never scored yourself in real games... Always thinking of others instead.

While outside of soccer, during the breaks the players thought you were also a kind person, but maybe too kind... Helping others with their English, fetching things they forgot, or even using your goals to help buy something for someone. Of course, some people took advantage of you. But Isagi, Bachira, Chigiri and the others would usually help stop them.

He sighs, watching from the security camera as you refill the water bottles for everyone. Not knowing if you could carry all of them... Maybe he should send one of the idiots to help you-

"Yo! Y/n can you find something for me." Igarashi shouts from afar. Approaching you as your head turns around to smile at him.

"Of course! Just give me a minute to refill these waters-"

"It'll be quick Y/n! Just do it now!.." He whined, looking at you a bit annoyed. "Hold on! I'm almost done!" You replied, trying to quickly not waste anymore time.

"Whatever, just hurry up or something. You're so selfish Y/n." Igarashi sighed, crossing his arms as you tightly gripped the water bottle in your hand.

"Oh... I'm sorry.." You mumbled under your breath. "Let me put this down and I'll find it for you Igarashi-"

"No, you won't." You saw Igarashi flinch in the corner of your eye as Barou came into view. As well as Nagi behind him who looked a bit mad.

"Lame.. Just do it yourself.." Nagi said, his lazy eyes pierced through the scared man. "Even though Y/n will basically do anything means you can make her do your dumb things.." He sighed, coming up to you while picking up a water bottle you had filled to drink.

"Hey? What's going on?" Chigiri said, walking in as the rest of Blue Lock eleven followed behind.

Igarashi found his chance to run away from the situation, as Barou was about to yell for his ass to come back. But everyone laid their eyes on you, as you sat on the ground and thought about what Igarashi had said.

"Am I really selfish?.." You mumbled under your breath, a bit sadden and confused about the situation.

The whole team looked at you dumbfounded. How could you think of that? You were probably the least selfish person out of them. Since they each had their huge egos for soccer...

"Selfish? Come on! You're probably the most selfless person out of all of us!" Isagi shouted, groaning at how you could really think that. "Yeah! It's almost weird how nice you are.." Bachira noted, crouching down next to you to reassure you.

"Sometimes I can't help but think you're a pushover too." Karasu said, crossing his arms as he smiled at you. While you deadpanned at him. Rin then came over, after having enough of waiting for the waters. "Hurry up, we got another round to play." He came up beside you as you started to refill the water bottles again.

While you did that, the rest of the team started to point out many things you did to help them out. Some good, some funny, and some outright weird... They laughed as they talked about it, and telling you that it's okay to say no to them sometimes.

During that, Ego was smirking to himself. You finally heard from others that you should say no instead of doing whatever they wanted without any questions. It was nice, maybe this could also help you build confidence overtime too.

And as you finished filling the bottles, everyone took one and were going back to the practice rooms. Till an announcement from Ego was made.

"Y/n, get to my office now."

Everyone looked at you as you quickly shuffled out of the way to get out.

"Oooh! She's in trouble!" Bachira shouted, as you smiled and rolled your eyes at him. Making your way down, you found Ego's office. Stepping in front of it the door suddenly opened automatically on its own.

He was sitting in his chair, back faced to you as you walked inside. Hearing the door close shut, you couldn't help but feel a wave of uneasiness. "So... What do you need?-"

"You are a person, right?" Ego asked, not turning around while he questions you.

"Yes?.." Where was this conversation going...

"Then, why do you follow commands like a robot?" He says, turning around to face you as you freeze. His wide eyes were staring at you, a bit intimidating. "Uh- I don't know-"

"If you don't know, then don't do it." Ego sighed, rubbing his temple before looking back at you. "Next time, feel free to do what you want. And put yourself first before others." You nod, as he uses his hand to tell you to scram. The door opens again as you quickly rush out.

While walking back, you couldn't help but wonder if you should really put yourself first. Well, it doesn't hurt to try does it? That's how your ego started to develop, to build the resistance of saying yes all the time and now saying no. Would this help you later on? Hopefully.

also I don't think I could ever write an actual Ego x Reader thing so I'm glad this was more like a parent kinda thing. Sorry if it didn't turn out how you would've liked, but I tried!
