Third Person POV

Outside the quaint café, a tense silence enveloped Hanni and you. Your heart pounded in your chest, each beat echoing in the quiet air, as you braced yourself for the conversation ahead.

Hanni's fingers trembled, her own apprehension laid bare. She searched for the right words, the weight of her secret bearing heavily on her shoulders.

Finally, she mustered the courage to speak.

"So, Kang Y/n..." she began, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Yes...?" you replied, your own voice tinged with nervous anticipation.

"You know better than me what I'm going to say," she confessed, her eyes reflecting a mix of vulnerability and determination.

"Are you... are you going to kill me to hide your secrets?" you stammered, the question hanging heavily in the air.

"If I have to... then yes," Hanni's words sent a shiver down your spine, the gravity of the situation sinking in.

"I'm not going to say anything to anyone," you assured, your voice laced with urgency.

"Really?" Hanni's gaze bore into yours, seeking sincerity in your eyes.

"Yes. I'm not even concerned about you dating someone from our rival school. I don't want to be dragged into this mess," you confessed, your words rushing out, the weight of the situation palpable.

Hanni's skepticism was evident. "How am I supposed to believe you?" she challenged, her voice a mix of doubt and hope.

"Believe me, if I wanted to expose your secret, I would've already. But I haven't," you reasoned, hoping to sway her doubts.

"If you don't believe me, there's nothing more I can do about it," you added, a note of resignation settling in.

"Okay... I'll believe you. Just... please, don't tell anyone. Please," Hanni implored, relief and trepidation dancing in her eyes.

"Okay. I won't... for my own good," you agreed, the weight of the promise settling on your shoulders.

"Okay... I should get going. Goodbye, Kang Y/n," Hanni waved her hand awkwardly, a tentative smile playing on her lips.

"Goodbye... You can just call me Y/n," you offered, a softness in your voice.

"Okay... Y/n," Hanni said softly, turning to leave, a mixture of relief and lingering uncertainty in her steps.

As Hanni rejoined her friends, laughter and animated conversation welcomed her back.

Hyein's playful accusation greeted her, "Where the hell were you, Unnie? I thought you fell asleep in the stall!"

"No, I just ran into an old friend, and we talked for a bit. It made me a little late coming back," Hanni lied, a pang of guilt settling in her chest.

Meanwhile, you met up with your own group of friends, who greeted you with playful concern.

"Where were you?" Bae asked, feigning worry.

Jini chimed in with a laugh, "Jungwon was ready to file a missing persons report!"

"I was just outside getting some fresh air," you replied, weaving a tale to cover your absence.

Jungwon chimed in, slightly hurt, "You should've told me! I would've liked to join you!"

You mumbled an apology, the weight of deception settling on your conscience, a silent echo of the secrets that bound both you and Hanni.
