"What do you mean by his behavior?" I ask the cop.

I see a younger blonde lady come out of Ambrose house, who looked a tad bit like his mom. "Officer, I can speak with her," she says.

She wears a small smile on her face and walks up to us. The officer nods and walks towards his partner.

"We haven't met, but Sandra. I'm Ambrose's aunt," she extends her hand out for me.

I shake her hand and it isn't until she is up close that I notice that she's incredibly young. She must be in her early twenties and has a slight southern accent.

"I'm Evangeline. Ambrose is in most of my classes," I say.

She hums and retracts her hand. "Ambrose had a bit of a mental breakdown tonight. The cops were just here as a precautionary," she says, waving her hand around like it was a normal thing.

"Wait what happened?" I ask, "Can I go see him?"

Sandra blocks my way as I try to side step her and gives me a sheepish smile. "Sorry, his parents want to give him some space to calm down. He hasn't been taking the medication that his mom gave him."

"Medication for what?" I ask.

I can't recall a type Ambrose mentioned he had something or was going through something in order for him to be on medication. This made me realize that I don't really know anything about Ambrose.

"Ambrose has always dealt with committing suicide," she says in a low voice, "he almost killed himself tonight."

Ambrose didn't come to school yesterday, so I decided that I would go over to his house today to give him his missing assignments and check up on him.

I knocked on his door and his mom opened it. "Oh, Evangeline, right?" She has a surprised look on her face.

I nod. "Hi, Mrs. Woods. I stopped by to give Ambrose his assignments from yesterday. Is it okay if I give them to you?" I began to pull out his worksheets from his classes when she put her hand on my arm.

"Go on up, you can give them to him. I don't think he wants to see me right now," she says sheepishly.

She opens the door up for me and allows me to step inside. I've never been over to Ambrose's house before and I've spoken to his parents at most three times when we saw each other outside of our houses. Ambrose never thought to invite me over so this was a bit nerve wracking.
