As I sipped my mango juice, I found myself walking with Akari towards the volleyball court. Suddenly, I heard heavy footsteps running through the hallway. It sounded like someone was running fast, and a familiar voice boomed from behind us. I turned to see Rengoku Kyojuro, running towards us with his usual energetic stride.

"Akari san! Sumi san! Good afternoon!" His voice echoed throughout the hallway as he reached us. Of course, it was the one and only Rengoku Kyojuro, the captain of the boys baseball team.

Akari grabbed Rengoku's arm and pulled him towards us, smiling widely. "Kyojuro! Hey!" she greeted him excitedly.

"How's your day been?" Rengoku responded with a whisper, his cheeks slightly flushed from the effort of running.

"Good, you?" Akari spoke back in the same tone, her eyes shining even brighter than usual.

They started chatting together, and I couldn't help but feel like the third wheel. I sighed and started walking towards the court, feeling a bit left out.

After a few minutes, we arrived at the court. I grabbed my bag and I walked to the changing rooms. Being there for my team was a must, since we were already in the finals. As I walked out of the changing rooms, one of my teammates yelled loudly for me. "Sumi!" They shouted as they waved me over. Curious, I decided to see what was up.

As I made my way towards the courts, I saw him again - the annoying yet handsome silver-haired guy with eyes that seemed to capture the entire universe within them. I shook my head, trying to refocus myself.

When I finally reached the courts, I saw that Douma was in the middle of a conversation with Akari about random shit. Suddenly, I heard a loud shout and saw one of my teammates rush up to us.

As I moved closer to see what was going on, I was met with a horrible sight. Our middle hitter, a strong teammate who had already contributed significantly to our team's success, had sprained her ankle and was now crying uncontrollably on the ground.

It was a difficult moment for all of us, and as I helped my teammate off the ground, I couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt for not being there to protect her earlier.

Setting my teammate down on the bleachers, I tried my best to comfort her. "It's going to be alright, okay?" I said, hoping that my words could soothe her. "I'll go find the medic."

Without a second thought, I ran out of the gym, hoping to find the school's nurse as quickly as possible. After a few minutes of searching, I spotted her office and knocked on the door.

"What seems to be the problem?" she asked as she answered the door. After explaining the situation, she quickly followed me back to the gym and looked at my teammate's injury.

The school's nurse tried to put the ankle back into place, but it proved to be a challenging task. Despite her best efforts, the pain continued to worsen for my teammate, and she could only sit on the ground and hold back tears.

I frowned at the sight, I felt guilty that I couldn't do anything to stop this from happening. She's very good at volleyball and we can't find a quick replacement for her THAT quickly.

I let out a frustrated sigh and held my head in my hands,  my head hurting as the sounds of chatter and movement filled the room. My thoughts raced, wondering how we were going to manage without one of our best players. I felt like I was letting my team down as their captain, and I desperately needed a solution. In the midst of my frustration, a soft voice suddenly called out from the bleachers, belonging to one of my best friends Kanao Tsuyuri.

"I can do it... I know how to play volleyball well."

And I couldn't help but smile with relief.

"Will you actually do it, Kanao?" I ask her. My breath shaky and my mind racing at the possibility of finding a replacement, and helping Kanao fit in!

She nodded, her face still blank, but a hint of determination was seen in her eyes.

That was enough for me.

As the volleyball tournament ended, our team won (thanks to Kanao) and me and Akari drove home in Akari's  yellow Porsche. Her driving was as reckless as a drunk man and I held onto the door tightly as she sped down the streets like it was GTA. And I was quite shocked by how much she could handle behind the wheel. After a long day of volleyball, I felt ready to collapse, and I was relieved to finally be able to kick off my shoes and relax.

As soon as we arrived at our dorm, Akari crashed onto the couch and pulled out her phone, furiously texting Rengoku. I sighed and shook my head, knowing full well that Akari had a serious crush on him. She seemed completely infatuated, and I couldn't blame her - he's super cool. Deciding that it was time for a well-earned (mango) juice break, I walked over to the fridge and grabbed the juice that I had swiped from Douma. I took a few gulps before finally feeling my mind relax a bit, taking in the sweet and refreshing taste of the mango juice. It was just what I needed after a day filled with volleyball and stress. At least we won second.

I walked to my room and I blasted Gwen Stefani's "Bubble Pop Electric" as I sat in my desk chair and wrote English notes down. We have an exam coming up soon, so I'm preparing for it. Akari continues to focus on texting Rengoku.

After finishing five pages of intense English notes, my eyes grew heavy and it wasn't long before I drifted off to sleep. I didn't bother to get comfortable, and instead opted to lay my head directly on the desk. The silence of my room allowed me to quickly doze off, and before I even realized it, I was caught in the clutches of sleep. The soft hum of my computer was all that I heard as I drifted off, slowly losing consciousness.

As I laid there on my desk, I suddenly heard a loud noise that startled me. I stood up quickly, grabbing my trusty baseball bat that I kept under my bed. Someone had broken into our dorm! I quickly scanned the room, my eyes darting around for the intruder. My heart was racing and I was ready to defend my dorm at all costs. I had to figure out how to handle this and fast.

As I got closer, I noticed a shady figure entering the kitchen and grabbing the mango juice that I had stolen from Douma. Really? At 3am??

I knew I had to stop them. So I took a deep breath and quickly swung the bat at the intruder's ass, sending them flying to the ground with a loud thud. The familiar voice of Akari's brother, Douma, echoed throughout the dormitory as they rubbed their sore asshole.

"Ow! What the actual heck, Sumi?!" He cried out as he pouted, still rubbing his ass.

"You just shoved a baseball bat up my butt!" He scoffed as he stood up and towered over me.

"Douma?! What the heck are you doing in my dorm?!" I yell out, my face burning red as I realize who the intruder actually was.

"You and Akari's dorm. Not just yours," he rolled his eyes again.

"Anyways, I told you I would be coming over for a bit."

"I was expecting you to come over when I was awake. Not when it's 3:00am in the damn morning!"

"...Touché" he murmured as he sipped the mango juice. I sigh and I bring him over to the living room, where we chat for a bit before I go back to sleep.
