Ayesha and Ameena's college life had settled into a predictable rhythm. Every day, they followed the same routine: attending lectures, walking back to their hostel along the same footpath, and sharing quiet conversations about their day. Life, though new and exciting in some ways, was steady and uneventful.
But one day, something changed.
As they walked back to their hostel after a long day of classes, a cheerful voice interrupted their usual chatter.
"Hey!"
Both of them stopped in their tracks and exchanged puzzled glances. They didn't know anyone here...
at least, not well enough to be greeted like this. Slowly, they turned to see who it was.A handsome man around 182 cm, tall enough to catch every eye . His hair was neatly straight, brushing softly over his forehead.
Dressed in a clean, casual outfit that somehow looked model-like on him, he gave off a warm, quiet charm.
Almost about their age, stood there with a wide dimple smile .His gaze lingered on Ayesha, his eyes lighting up when they made eye contact.
"Do you know him?" Ameena's eyes silently asked through a questioning tilt of her head.
"No," Ayesha replied with a subtle shake of her own.
"Sorry, you must be mistaken. We don't know you," Ayesha said politely, offering a small, hesitant smile.
The boy's smile didn't falter. "Wait! I'm your classmate. My name's Kim Chawoon." His face showed a mix of surprise and amusement.
"Oh," Ayesha said, her smile growing a little. "Nice to meet you, Chawoon. Sorry for not recognizing you. It's only our fifth day, and there are so many students.....it's hard to remember everyone, right?"
Ameena, meanwhile, didn't share Ayesha's friendliness. She had noticed how Chawoon kept his eyes fixed on Ayesha, and it made her uncomfortable.
"Well, we should get going now. Bye!" Ameena interjected with an overly bright smile, grabbing Ayesha's hand and starting to walk away.
But Chawoon wasn't done.
"Wait!" he called, stepping in front of them again. His face was serious now, his voice slightly hesitant. "I... I need to say something to Ayesha."
Ayesha stopped, confused. "To me? What is it?"
"For the last three days..." He paused, fumbling for words. "I... I... I love you."
Time seemed to freeze. He reached into his bag, pulling out a single red rose and a small ring box.
Ayesha and Ameena stared at him, utterly shocked.
"Wait, are you serious? Is this some kind of prank?" Ayesha asked, desperately hoping for a camera crew to jump out and yell "Gotcha!"
"Yeah, where's the camera?" Ameena added, looking around suspiciously.
"No, no!" Chawoon said quickly. "I'm serious! I've never seen anyone with eyes as beautiful as yours, Ayesha! From the moment I saw you, I couldn't stop thinking about you. I'm in love with you."
Ayesha blinked, trying to process his words. Then she sighed. "I'm sorry, but I can't accept your proposal. I can't marry a Christian man. I hope you understand."
Chawoon's face fell for a moment, but then he brightened again. "Oh, but I'm not Christian anymore! I recently converted to Islam. My Muslim name is Ali."
"What?!" Ayesha and Ameena exclaimed simultaneously, their mouths falling open.
Chawoon looked puzzled. Huh?!
Ameena recovered first. "Nothing, it's just... unexpected."
Ayesha nodded but added firmly, "Even so, ....
I'm here to study, not to get involved in a relationship. I'm sorry, Chawoon Or Ali but I can't say yes."
"You'll find someone better,"And ameena just nodding her head as she was agree from her
Chawoon wants to say further "But....i."
"No," Ayesha cut him off gently but firmly. "If you're a Muslim now, you should understand that relationships like this are haram."
Ameena crossed her arms. "Exactly. So, please don't bring this up again."
Chawoon stood speechless as they turned and walked away, their footsteps quickening.
As they reached the hostel, Ameena broke the silence.
"By the way, did you see how he was staring at you? Like, seriously. It made me so mad. Who do that?"
Ayesha didn't reply. She seemed lost in thought.
"Tum thik ho na?" Ameena asked softly.
((Are you alright))"Haan, main thik hoon," Ayesha replied, her voice distant. "I just can't understand what just happened! "
Ameena nodded, giving her friend space to process what had just happened.
But deep down, Ayesha couldn't shake the lingering question: why had this stranger's words unsettled her so much?
