When Chen Liguo woke up, he felt pain throughout his body.

He opened his eyes groggily and heard faint cries coming from beside him, with someone shouting, "Doctor, doctor, is my master okay?"

An elderly voice responded, "Master Ji's illness isn't severe, but his condition is fragile. What's ordinary to most people, such as wind and cold, affects him severely."

Upon hearing this, the boy started crying again. Chen Liguo was disturbed by the noise, which drained his energy. His head spun, and he soon passed out. This state persisted for two days.

When Chen Liguo awoke from this darkness, he was unaware that the people around him were already spreading rumors about the owner of the body being on the verge of death.

During those days in a coma, Chen Liguo also discovered the goals he needed to achieve in this world.

This world existed in ancient times, during a period of constant warfare as four kingdoms vied for power. The owner of Chen Liguo's body was named Ji Shang, a renowned military strategist from one of the four nations. His mission was to alter the destiny of a young princess from his kingdom, Yan Zhiyao.

Yan Zhiyao had endured a wretched fate. Her mother was a maid, which placed her in a lowly position with no status in the current dynasty. The ambitious Emperor of Yan State embarked on a conquest at the tender age of fourteen, and by the time he reached thirty-two, he had conquered two neighboring nations.

Yan Zhiyao's tragic fate was just beginning. She had been mistreated since childhood and, due to her low status, was sent to a foreign land for marriage.

Her husband was the enemy country's emperor. Initially, he treated her well, but as the Yan Kingdom continued its conquests, his attitude toward Yan Zhiyao soured. Eventually, he accused her of infidelity and married another woman, effectively abandoning Yan Zhiyao.

Yan Zhiyao was already pregnant at that time. She pleaded, but her husband remained resolute. While pregnant, she was exiled to an ancient temple in the mountains and gave birth to a prince seven months later.

During this time, Yan Zhiyao's husband's kingdom was attacked by her brother's forces, and the prince she had given birth to became the last hope for the restoration of the royal family.

As Chen Liguo read about Yan Zhiyao's experiences, he couldn't help but shed tears of sympathy. Her life had been even more trying than that of Ran Tongtong.

After organizing these memories, Chen Liguo finally woke up from his coma.

The second time he regained consciousness, he heard the voice of a boy crying with joy. "Master Ji, you're finally awake!"

Chen Liguo raised his eyelids and responded weakly.

The boy asked, "Would you like some water? I've prepared porridge for you."

Chen Liguo nodded slowly.

Upon seeing this, the boy lifted Chen Liguo and positioned him against the bed's headboard. He then left to fetch water.

Chen Liguo sat on the bedside and sensed that something was amiss. After careful inspection, he paled and exclaimed, "System... why can't I feel my legs?"

The system played dead.

Chen Liguo said, "I don't recall Ji Shang being crippled!"

System: "It didn't say he wasn't."

Chen Liguo: "...I can't argue with that."

System: "Even if your legs are crippled, just complete the task properly without worrying about what you lack."
