The grandeur of Lucien's villa surrounded them as they made their way inside. Luxurious furniture, art, and lavish decorations adorned the spacious rooms, creating an opulent atmosphere. Maelys and Laurent shared a few glances, their unspoken connection growing stronger.

Lucien led the way to the sitting room, and a servant offered them a selection of drinks. They took their seats, and Laurent couldn't help but sit close to Maelys, his thigh pressing against hers as he handed her a glass of wine.

As the night continued, Hélène, Lucien, Laurent, and Maelys gathered around a well-lit table, upon which a poker set was laid out. The banter, laughter, and light-hearted teasing flowed freely. Maelys noticed that Laurent's challenge had intensified, the sparks between them igniting as they exchanged sharp-witted remarks.

Hélène and Lucien appeared to be thoroughly engrossed in the game and were either oblivious to the subtle tension or chose to ignore it. They played with great enthusiasm, and Maelys even managed to win a hand or two. The more they played, the more the alcohol fueled their spirits, making the evening even livelier.

Laurent, always the gentleman, subtly let his fingers brush against Maelys's hand as she reached for her chips. She met his gaze with a daring look and gently whispered, "Trying to distract me, Laurent?" The heat of their silent flirtation was undeniable.

He leaned in, close enough for her to feel his warm breath on her ear. "Why not, Maelys? It's all part of the game, isn't it?" His sultry tone sent shivers down her spine.

Hélène and Lucien continued to discuss the club's challenges, their voices merging into the background as the charged atmosphere between Maelys and Laurent took center stage.

As the night wore on, and the clock struck midnight, the game had taken a more relaxed turn, and the alcohol had taken its toll.

"Lucien, I believe I'm too tipsy to drive," Hélène admitted. "Ah, yes, I see your point," Lucien agreed. He turned to Maelys. "What about you, Maelys?"

"I would never drive under the influence, Lucien. I'll stay as well," she replied with a bright smile, not mentioning the real reason she wanted to remain.

Lucien raised his glass. "Then it's settled! A nightcap for us all."

As the group enjoyed their last round of drinks, Lucien announced his decision. "Maelys, you can take the guest room upstairs on the left, and Hélène can take the room on the right."

With a final goodnight, Lucien and Hélène retired to their respective rooms. This had been a familiar pattern for them after such delightful evenings, as they had a deep understanding of each other's preferences. Hélène had a room of her own within the villa, making it more convenient to stay over.

Laurent and Maelys found themselves alone in the spacious living room, bathed in a soft, golden glow from the chandeliers. The air was thick with unspoken desire, their eyes locked in an intricate dance of teasing and longing.

Laurent's voice was a low murmur as he inched closer to Maelys. "You know, there's something about this room at night that makes it even more enchanting." Maelys felt her heart race, but she managed to retort playfully, "Is that so, Laurent? Perhaps it's just the company."

They continued their teasing, laughter and soft words filling the room. But as the hours ticked by and the night wore on, Maelys realized that it was time to put an end to their playful banter.

"Laurent," Maelys finally whispered, her voice filled with desire and longing. "I think it's best if I go to bed." Laurent nodded, his eyes still smoldering. "Of course, I'll show you to your room."
