A Devine Life (Josh Devine)

Welcome Back!

Yep, Josh proposed to me five years ago, and we had just gotten married a few weeks ago. I know it sounds weird, but it was actually better for the both of us. Josh has been touring nonstop these past few years, since the boys have gained even more fame, something I thought was impossible considering they were already the most popular boyband in the world, and we haven't really been a normal family. I've been busy trying to launch my singing career, but it's a hard thing to do as a mommy.

Their next tour wouldn't be for another year, when their next album is released, so we would be a family again for a while. It seemed as if Sophia and Josh didn't have a problem with their dad going out on tour. Yeah, they complained about missing him, but overall, they were some pretty understanding munchkins! The good thing was they would be able to spend more time with Josh than usual.

Josh was going to get home from this last tour today, so we planned a surprise party for him to celebrate his coming home AND his birthday, which was just a few days ago. We had planned on finally going on that honeymoon of ours, since he had to leave the day after our wedding to resume touring, but first, I wanted us to get settled in as a family.

I walked into the living room and saw Josh sat on the couch while Sophia messed with his hair. "Sophia, you better not have any scissors near you." She looked up at me and shook her head. I let out a sigh of relief because these kids could not be trusted with scissors.

The last time Josh was here, he and the kids fell asleep on the couch, but the kids woke up earlier. They went to the kitchen and grabbed the scissors from the drawer next to the sink. I walked into the living room ten minutes later to find each of them missing some hair, but mostly Sophia. I had combed her hair earlier and styled it into two ponytails, but she was missing one when I arrived to the scene of the crime. After a lot of questioning, I had discovered Josh had done it.

"Is Daddy almost here? I want him to see what I drew for him!" Josh handed me a drawing he had been working all morning. He drew Josh and himself in a spaceship, flying over the moon. Inside the spaceship was also an alien, which made me let out a little laugh. "Do you like it, Mommy?"

I gave it back to him and messed with his hair. "I love it. You're an awesome artist, my little spaceman." He laughed and put the drawing on the table. "Let's clean up and get everything ready for when Daddy gets home, okay?" They nodded and started to clean up their mess.

I was about to go to the kitchen and get dinner started when the doorbell rang. I opened the door and let my family in. Francisco, Jaime, and Caitlin played with the kids while Jake, my parents, and I got started on dinner. Jake worked on preparing some steaks while I cooked rice and my parents made a triple chocolate fudge cake. You don't know how hard it was to resist taking a bite out of that cake, especially since I was starving.

"Em! Can you come in here please?" I rolled my eyes and walked jinto the living room to find Francisco being tackled by Sophia, Josh, and Jaime. Caitlin was laughing her ass off on the couch, picking on Francisco. "Can you tell them to get off now? I really have to pee."

"Guys, give your uncle a break please." They all got off and let him stand up, but Jaime knocked him down on the couch before he could make his way to the bathroom. "You guys are so immature."

I walked back into the kitchen and grabbed my phone in the counter to text Josh.

'We miss youuu xxx'

He replied not even a minute after it was sent.

'On my way! Love you xxx'

I put my phone somewhere safe where Jake, Jaime, and Francisco wouldn't find it, which was my pocket. Trust me, you should never leave your phone lying around with these jerks around. They will hack your Facebook and post an embarassing status. The last time they did that to me, people kept calling me stinky.
