I SLIPPED ON MY JACKET before replacing my body with pillows, Maria texted me that she was waiting  where we first 'met'. 

"Did anyone see you?" She asked "You think i'd be here" I snicker, "we have 4 hours before they come check on me again." I remind them, Ares's diver takes us to the address James told me which led us to an abandoned house and it was quite small, but it seemed cozy. 

"No splitting up please" I pick at my nails again fighting the urge to bite them because they finally grew average length, "I hate when you do that" Ares takes my hand in his "then I should do it more often" 

"you two should date already" Mason rolls his eyes "shut up before I shoot you" Ares says as my eyes widened for the third time today "do you really have a gun?" 
"no" Ares says looking away from me. 

"we'll start in  the kitchen" I trail behind Maria as she looked for the kitchen, there was nothing in there so we went upstairs but there was nothing there either so we checked the lounge room, "I found a box" Mason brings it to the wooden coffee table. "Symbol? and code?" I pull out my phone.

"#-8-5-7-3" a soft click came from the box, "what's inside?" I eagerly ask "a note?" what? Maria silently reads it as mason looked over her shoulder.

"Some of that didn't make sense to me" Mason says confused "i'll take a photo of the note"

"I wanna read it now" I lunge over to Mason to grab the note but Ares takes it, "wha-" he skims over it, "are you sure you wanna read this? I don't get it but it's targeted to you" he hands it to me

"There's an SOS distress signal at the top and bottom of the page" Ares points out "who's Bell, because in the note it says check Bell going down, see" Maria shows me. "and what the fuck does she mean by the end is near?" Mason joins in.

"Sofia? don't cry" I didn't even know I was crying until Maria pointed it out.

"go wait in the car" Ares nods to Mason and Maria.

"Sofia" Ares places his right hand on my left cheek pulling me to face him. "we're here for you, no matter the circumstances" as I looked into his grey eyes I noticed small patterns of an ocean blue hidden inside them. 

"we should get you home" we both clear our throats, he holds out his hand as I take it. 

His hands were warm and I wasn't used to the feeling "your hands are warm?" I look up at him "yours are cold" he furrows his eyebrows, I could tell he felt weird in the tummy too because I saw a small blush creep up on his cheeks, but it left as quick as it came.
