One city that was a victim of the Nakba was the city of Yaffa. Yaffa was known for its rich oranges and orchids. If you're british, Jaffa cakes are named after the Jaffa orange, a citrus developed by Palestinian farmers.

Yaffa was a port city founded by the Canaanites ( the ancestors of Palestinians; the original inhabitants of Judea ). It also can be associated with the Battle of Jaffa and Treaty Of Jaffa during the Crusades.

The city was rich in industry, being known for its soap, oranges as well as pomegranates.

71,000 Palestinians lived here before the Nakba took place, where only 4000 remained.

The city is now known as Tel Aviv - Yafo.
