Chapter 37: Are you tired of me yet? (Pt. 1)

"Mari!" Kel calls out to her, as they run into the playground.
   "Oh, hi there!" Her warm smile is welcoming to them, especially after all the chaos that happened at the castle.
   "I'm glad you survived the explosions and fire... sorry Mari.. heh..." Kel rests his hands behind his head. (like a fucking teenage anime boy istg)
   "So, where to next?" Hero asks, somewhat eagerly.
   Basil had his eyes fixed on the sheet, shaking.
   Aubrey noticed this.
   "Hey. You good?"
   Basil kept his eyes locked on the word, 'Ellie.'
   "Y... yeah. Let's go." He weakly smiles and shoves the hangman paper in his pocket, joining the rest of the gang. Aubrey followed along, not wanting to push him. (...AGAIN LMAOOOO („ಡωಡ„))
   "So... where to next?" Aubrey asked reluctantly. She still doesn't understand why Mari grabbed her shoulder, and wouldn't let go.
   She didn't even apologize to me.
   But she brushed it off, as Mari was the only way to save Sunny, and they should trust each other.
   Right?
   "So!" Mari grins, and Hero shuffles a little, "No.. more spiders... right???"
   "Hehe... nope! Instead... we have to take a little detour."
   "A detour? Why? Aren't we running against time?" Basil glared up at Mari with distrust.
   It seemed like Aubrey wasn't the only one who had become weary of Mari's antics.
   "To help a friend! And also, you might get something more out of it (>ᴗ•)" she winks.
   "What friend? You mean, Captain Spaceboy? What's he got to do with this?" Kel questions.
   "Well... you didn't hear it from me... but I heard that he has one last letter... one that you guys need.*wink* *wink*" Mari snarks.
   "Okay...? Where is he?" Hero asked.
   "Hehe... PLUTO!!" She shouts, and not even a millisecond later, Pluto files into view and lands near them.
   "HAHAHAHA!! WHAT DO YOU NEED??" He beams, his breath and tone literally blowing the group back.
   "Hi! Is it okay if you take them to Snow Globe Mountain?" She very politely uttered.
   "OF COURSE!!" He leans down his arms and back, "ONE STOP TO SNOW GLOBE MOUNTAIN!!"
   "You can keep it down a little, y'know." Aubrey climbs on a arm, and Hero takes the other one. Basil takes the back, and holds on to his neck, leaving Kel with...
   "AWWW AGAIN???" Kel scoffs, rolls his eyes, and grabs his leg, holding tightly.
   "See you there, Mari." Hero added, and she nodded.
   *BEEP*
   *BEEP*
   *BEEP*
   *WHOOSH*  (so cringe omfg ಡ‸ಡ)

   Kel is yet again, laying on the ground. The snow gets in his nostrils, and in his sweater, making his freezing.
"G-g-goddamnit..." he shivers.
Pluto laughs, "HAH! UP YOU GO!" He tugs Kel by the hood and pulls him up to his feet.
"W-why do I f-feel c-cold?? Isn't this supposed to be a d-dream??" Kel's voice is unsteady, and tremulous.
"A dream? What're you talking about?" Pluto still keeps the smirk on his face.
"Uhh, never mind that! He's just stupid!" Aubrey puts her hands over his mouth.
"Mrph!!" His voice is muffling through her fingers.
"Anyways, thank you so much, Pluto. You've been a big help." Hero assured.
"No problem!! I heard you're looking for some keys, huh? Don't know what that is, but I hope you find it!" Pluto gives a thumbs up, and holds his hands up.
"SEE YA!! REMEMBER TO FLEX, MY BOY!!" And then Pluto takes off into the distance.
*snort* Aubrey holds back a laugh.

They're all climbing up the mountain, no end in sight.
A blizzard crashes into the four of them, holding them back. They all hold hands, trekking along. (Order: Hero, Kel, Aubrey, Basil :>)
"EVERYONE GOOD??" Hero has to talk over the raging winds.
"YEAH!! THANK GOD FOR ALL THOSE LEG DAYS!!" Kel tries to keep the mood up.
"IM FREEZING BALLS BACK HERE!!" Aubrey's voice echos throughout the mountain, "BASIL!! KEEP UP!!"
Basil was fumbling over his own feet, swaying back and forth. His vision was blurry and he couldn't feel his body at all.
   "G-G-Guys... I-I... don't..." Basil muttered.
   Aubrey turns back to him and rolls her eyes, "UGH, HERE." She let's go of Kel for a moment and rummaged through her pocket, any takes out a small lighter, she turns it on and hands it to Basil.
   "WHERE'D YOU GE-" Kel starts.
   "FINISH THAT SENTENCE AND I'LL SHOVE IT UP YOUR ASS!!" She hissed, grabbing his hand again.
   "There, better?" She whispers to Basil. He looks up and smiles softly, not needing to respond.
   Hero sighs, "I thought we just made up..."

   "Ah. Finally! The blizzard didn't reach here." Hero bends down to try and catch his breath, which he can literally see in front of him,
   "Wooo... ah... oh..." Kel rubs his legs, trying to warm them up, "Guess it was a bad idea to wear shorts... huh?"
   "Yeah... no shit." Aubrey replies, "how you holding up, Basil?" She checked on Basil, who was mesmerized by the flame.
   "Hey." She bends down to his level and mutters softly, "Remember all those years ago? When I... saw your photo albums?" She was starting to piece things together, "I... I hope you understand that I'm worried for you. And... I didn't mean it."
   He nods mindlessly.
   "You know... if the thing on the hangman sheet is true... and if she is who I think she is... I'll kick her ass for you, okay?" She taps his shoulder, but he doesn't look up.
   "Come on! We gotta go!!" Kel calls out to the two.
   "Sorry." She gets up and joins them, while Basil follows silently behind.

   "What's that?" Hero squints, seeing white figures in the distance.
   "Angels?" Aubrey leans forward to try and get a good view.
   "They're... getting bigger?" Kel says wearily.
   "No... they're coming towards us...?" Basil finally speaks up.
   "Uhm. Guys? Their eyes..." Hero noticed the same deep red like all the others.
   Basil and the rest of the gang slowly wielded their weapons, getting ready for battle.
   Basil held his knife tightly, shaking.
   Four, huge snow angels flew up to them. Each fighting one of them, specifically.
   They all looked different, though.
   Hero's had long hair, Aubrey's had short, curly hair, Kel's had short, straight hair, and Basil's had a hair length to its shoulders.
    The sounds and looks were unsettling... and eerily familiar.
   Aubrey attacks her's after a few swings and it disintegrates.
   Hero's is gone after a few hits too.
   So is Kel's.
   Basil's stays for some reason, taking more critical attacks than normal, going awry.
   The three of them join in on his fight.
   "Does this thing ever die??" Aubrey chimes in, swinging at the angels neck, doing barely any damage.
   After a few more rounds, the angel suddenly appears behind Basil and puts it's hands on his shoulders.
   "I̶̩̭̐ ̵̘̈́̔͜͝w̴͖̺͝ǎ̴̲̙̦n̴̩̈́̓n̴̰̙̽̂̚ă̸͎̜̏̒ ̷͖́f̸͖̣̉u̶͎͖͑̒ĉ̷̳k̵̦͔̽ͅ ̴̛͚̝̱͊y̶̲̔̌̄ỏ̸͖̈́ͅų̴̥̆̾̚ ̸̞̤̙̄s̸̼̥̎o̴̥͕̐ ̵͇̖͗̈̔͜b̶̗̙̩͑͑͝a̴̪͈̐͒d̶̳́͜l̵̜͇̀́̐ÿ̵̧̝̼́...̸̨́ ̷̯̀͝B̵̳̭̻̓͠ä̷̦͆̔s̴͔͐͛ͅi̷̤̼̍͂l̶̨̢͔̽.̴͓̔"
   And then it turns into a clump of snow, falling to the ground.
  "Basil! Are you okay?" Kel dashes up to him and kneels down.
   "..." His eyes are cold with fear, and he was trembling so much he could barely stand up.
   "Basil?" Hero adds, also leaning down.
   Aubrey looks away in shame.
   "... yeah. I'm okay." The lie slips through his teeth.
   And with that decent answer, they press on in silence, not knowing what was waiting for them at the peak....
