Le Nuage / The Cloud

Comme un nuage noir au dessus de ma tête. 
Like a black cloud on top of my head

Qui m'imagine me gratter les veines à sang
Which makes me wonder about scratching my veins

Qui imagine les goûtes tomber au sol
Which imagine the drops on the floor

Qui m'imagine me jeter sous le tram
Which makes me throw myself under the tramway

Tourner accidentellement le volant
Turn the wheel accidentally

Le nuage me traverse l'esprit 
The cloud comes in my mind

Et repart avec le vent aussitôt qu'il est venu
and goes away along with the wind 

Ce nuage n'est pas à moi
The cloud isn't me

Ce n'est pas moi.
This isn't me

C'est la première fois que je connais un nuage aussi gros
I've never seen any cloud as big as that one. 

Qui prend autant d'ampleur 
Taking so much importance 

Je peux rigoler, aller extrêmement bien
I can laugh, feel extremely good

Personne ne se doute de rien
No one would know 

Mais la seconde d'après le nuage est là
But the next second the cloud is there

A me dire que les gens s'ennuient de moi
Telling me people are bored of me

Je me sens entourée mais seule
I feel surrounded but alone

Je reste dans mon monde à moi
So I remain in my little world

La où le nuage reste menaçant mais ne m'atteint pas
Where the cloud is threatening, but can't reach me

Mais ce monde n'est qu'éphémère
But this world is ephemeral

La réalité et ses attentes me rattrapent
Reality and its expectations catch me

Je suis piégée. 
I am trapped

Je veux partir.
I wanna go 

Redevenir lumière
to become light again

Mais plus brillante est la lumière
But brighter is the light

Plus sombre est l'ombre
Darker is the shadow

La vie est un échiquier
Life is a chessboard

Et je suis sur une case noire
And I'm on a black square

Suis-je le roi ? ou la reine ?
Am-I the King ? or the Queen ?

Ce n'est pas moi. 
This isn't me. 

Je veux m'en sortir. 
I want to get out of it. 

Je suis plus forte que ça. 
I am stronger than this. 

Je le sais.
I know it. 

Mais je constate qu'il est là
But I notice it is there

Là où il n'était pas avant. 
Where it has never been before
