Drive Forever (Lewis Hamilton)

I'm around the circuit for the F1 GP of Monaco. Lewis Hamilton is my favorite rider. I'm with my best friend. She's crazy about F1. To be honest,I'm not fan of F1 since my childhood.I started to watch races when I met my best friend in high school. Lewis is my favorite. My best friend's name is Louise and she's fan of Max Verstappen. Contradictory, right? She also loves Lando Norris. If I had to make my top 3 of my favorite drivers, it would be: Lewis Hamilton, Daniel Ricciardo and Carlos Sainz.

I wear a t-shirt with the number of Lewis. I'm waiting for Louise because she went to the toilets/restroom. My phone rings and it's a call from my mother. I answer and I feel happy to hear her. I miss her so much. I wish she was there with me. We talk for about fifteen minutes, before we hang up. Louise comes back when I was about to text her.

"Where were you ?"- I ask

"Toilets. there was a queue." - Louise replies

"Well, what do we do ?"

"Paddocks ?"

"Let's go !"

Louise managed to get VIP tickets to have access to the paddocks. My name is Dixie Hayward and I'm from New Zealand. I'm photographer and archaeologist. Travelling enables to take photographs. My father was almost never there, so I barely know him. My mother showed me pictures of him so I know what he looks like. I made my life without him, so I'm used not to see him. I must have seen him sometimes as a teenager, but that's it.

We come back from the paddocks and we walk towards the fan zone because the meeting with the drivers is approaching. I am surprised to see that there are not many people yet. We decide to sit against the safety barrier. I brought two chairs, so we don't have to stand for hours. I hope Lewis is here. Louise is still talking to me about Max.

The drivers' meeting started ten minutes ago and Lewis didn't appear yet. Max is there with his teammate, Sergio Perez. Louise is hysterical when she sees Max. I notice that it makes him smile but Louise does not notice it. Max and Sergio answer two more questions before coming down from the stage to sign autographs and take pictures with the fans. Max comes to us and Louise hugs him.

"My biggest fan !" - Max says

"I needed to come here to see you" - Louise replies

Max smiles because it makes him happy. Louise hugs him before Max signs an autograph for her, and they take a picture together. He signs my hat and agrees to take a picture with me. I hug him too, thanking him for being there. Because yes, he saved Louise's life. He was always there for her and they saw each other at fan zones of some grand prix. He's always been her favorite driver. I keep watching Max sign autographs and talk to the fans. The fan zone host brings me back to reality when he announces that Lewis and George Russell are next. Louise smiles at me and my legs start to shake. Louise notices and she puts her arm around my shoulders. Lewis and George appear and a tear falls on my cheek. I can't believe he's in front of me. I never thought I'd be so close to him.

"How does it feel to be there again, Lewis ?" - The host asks

"It feels great. It is a grand prix I like and I'm happy to see some familiar faces in the crowd." - Lewis replies

"Who do you talk about ?"

"Some fans I noticed last year, especially two girls."

"Where are they ?"

"Just there."

My heart races when I see him pointing at us. The host asks us to go on stage and I see Lewis smiling when he sees that Louise grabs me by the arm to go on stage. My anxiety makes me feel very uncomfortable and I think Lewis notices it because he puts an arm around my shoulders. Louise winks at me and I roll my eyes. The host, fans, Lewis and George ask us questions. Then we go back to our place behind the safety barrier. A few minutes later, Lewis and George come down to sign autographs. I'm in my thoughts but I quickly come back to reality when Louise gently taps my shoulder. Lewis and George are right next to us. I wrote a letter to Lewis and I intend to give it to him now. Speaking of him, he comes in front of us. I can't help but smile.
