After clearing Y/N's innocence, the six of them began to walk together back to Y/N's apartment. Y/N still being a bit paranoid, had them stop about two blocks away for safety, "Well, here's my stop, Thank-you guys for saving me back there." Y/N gave them all a smile. "No problem, we'll be headed home. Stay safe out there." Raph said with a wave before him, Leo, Mikey, and April began walking away. Donnie stood there and stared at Y/N. It was almost uncomfortable. "D-Did you need something?" Y/N asked nervously. "Do you have your phone?" He asked bluntly, holding his hand out. Y/N fumbles for their old flip phone from their pocket and quickly places it in his hand. "Wow... This is ancient. You need an upgrade." Donnie remarked. Y/N anxiously rubbed the back of their neck, shoulders slumped. "Yeah, I know. I'm working on that." Donnie sighs and starts typing on the phone before closing it and tossing it back to Y/N. "Stay out of trouble." Y/N almost missed the phone but caught it clumsily, and before they could ask what he did, Donnie was already gone. 'What a strange bunch.' Y/N thought to themselves. Making sure no one was around Y/N continued the two blocks to their apartment. Once inside, they unrolled their sleeping bag and plopped down in exhaustion. "Man, what a crazy first day. I wonder if it will be like this every day?" Finally closing their eyes, Y/N falls into a deep sleep.

The next morning, Y/N woke up stretching out their soreness. For having been a sleeping bag on the floor, they slept like a baby. Y/N got up took a shower and changed their clothes, finally unpacking the few bags they carried with them from their hometown. In one bag was a small, framed photo, The photo was of Y/N, two older adults, and a younger looking child, their brother. "Don't worry, kiddo, I'll see you again soon, I promise." Y/N kissed two of their fingers and placed them on the photo before gently setting it down on the kitchen counter. Remembering the night before, Y/N flipped open their phone to see what Donnie had done. Clicking through their contacts, photos and various apps it seemed nothing out of the ordinary had occurred. Puzzled Y/N shrugged, checked the time, and placed it in their back pocket. Grabbing their shoulder bag and slid their boots on. Standing at their door hand on the knob, Y/N took a deep breath. "Here goes nothing, another day of freedom." Centering themselves Y/N heads off to work. The next several days went by generally the same, wake up, eat, go to work, come home, and sleep. Y/N was curious if they'd ever see those mysterious turtles again. They were like nothing Y/N had ever seen or heard of before. Since then, every night, Y/N would take their time walking home constantly looking down alleys and listening to every small sound. One night Y/N thought they might have heard them, but as it turned out it was just a homeless woman and her child looking for food in the trash. Y/N offered them the extra pizza they had from their shift that evening, the woman happily accepted it, thanking Y/N greatly for their generosity. Y/N almost thought it was all just a crazy dream, those turtles, except they had their job at Pizza Pit, which was proof enough for them that it actually happened. Tonight, after their shift was over, Y/N took a detour to stop at a convenience store a few blocks in the opposite direction of their apartment.

Trudging through the aisles of a QuikyMart, Y/N zones out staring at bags on bags of chip flavors. Y/N jumped as someone tapped on their shoulder, it was April! "Hey, are you alright? I've been calling your name for a few minutes now." She had a small look of consideration and concern on her face. Y/N made an attempt to give a smile but by the look on Aprils' face it wasn't working out well. "Y-Yeah, uh, I'm alright. Just tired from working so much." Y/N kept their hands in their purple hoodie pocket and didn't dare to make eye contact. April tilted her head, Y/N reminded her of Donnie; she sighed shrugging her shoulders. "It's okay you don't have to tell me if you aren't ready." She went to place her hand on Y/N's shoulder, only to hover centimeters above. Y/N took notice of this and turned to face April, giving her a puzzled look. "Something tells me you don't like physical touch, so I'm respecting boundaries." April explained shrugging her shoulders with a slight smile. April could tell by the expression of shock and confusion on Y/N's face she needed to explain more. "When Donnie helped you with your glasses that night, when we all first met, you pulled your hand away quickly when his hand touched yours. At first, we thought you were scared of him but after some talking, we both agreed that you don't do well with physical touch." Y/N simply nodded and cleared their throat. "Ahem, so, what are you doing here?" Y/N asked trying to change the subject. "Oh, this is my new job! I just started, so do you need help finding a 'perfect' snack?" April laughed whole heartedly, this made Y/N smile and their nerves finally relax. Y/N turned back to the selection of chips and decided to grab a family sized bag of sea salt and vinaigrette chips. April made a face, "You actually enjoy those??? Ick, it's like eating static TV!" Y/N ripped the bag open in protest and began munching on them happily. "These are my favorite! I really enjoy the tingle it gives my tongue." Y/N said in between bites. April rolled her eyes, "Alright well if you need anything let me know I've got other customers to help." Y/N waved her goodbye for now and continued to stroll through the aisles.

While looking around Y/N could hear April having some trouble with another customer, peeking around the corner Y/N could see April looking slightly frustrated and the other customer moving their hands rapidly. Curious Y/N walks over and asks April, "Is everything okay?" April sighs placing her hand against her temple. "I'm trying to help them, but they are deaf and my ASL isn't the greatest." She admits defeatedly. Y/N perks up a bit, "Oh, uh, I actually know sign language, would you like me to translate for you?" April's eyes go wide as does her smile, "Would you please!" She asks excitedly. Y/N translates for April what this other customer was in need of, and they both help happily and head off to the register.
