MANIPULATION IS KEY: 42

Two weeks later.

"I'm going to fucking kill that bitch! What the fuck is wrong with her!" Soojin yelled, messing around with her hair in furiousity as she paced around the room. "Seriously, he cancels the marriage and goes to marriage some other bitch. How dare she fucking ruin my plan." She yells.

At this point, she didn't care if staff outside could hear her, all she wanted to do was release her anger. 

"I waited for him for years. Fucking years. And she comes and takes him after like what? Three months?" She spat, talking to her self while rolling her fingers into a fist.

A deep sigh slipped from her mouth, hoping that it would retain her burst of anger somehow. 

"She's basically asking for a death wish, isn't she? The next time I see her, I'm going to kill her with my own hands. I could've done that last time but that one bitch of a girl-"

A knock rose upon the door, making her even more enraged at that moment as she yelled a 'Come in!' for the supposed guest.

"Soojin?" 

The Jang quickly fixed herself up, combing her hair with her fingers and smoothening the wrinkles across her blouse. "Oh, Jeonghan. What are you doing here?"

"Were you singing or screaming then? I heard some loud sounds." The Yoon inquired, "Anyways, I'm here to say something."

"No, I was just a bit mad." She chuckled in order to hide her outburst. "What do you have to say?"

"Uh, firstly. I'm really sorry for suddenly asking to cancel the wedding. Also for not telling you since now, but I assume you already know by now? And I'm sorry for the situation that I issued," He emphasised the 'I' while speaking his last sentence. 

A dry chuckle left the female's lips. 

"But, please understand that I think our relationship is better this way. I really don't want to ruin our friendship and I don't see myself being in a romantic relationship with you."

Soojin inhaled, although the room was feeling a bit stuffy. "How's your new girl?" She asked blankly, crossing her arms. 

Jeonghan could definitely sense the anger building up, creating tension. "It's Minji, you've seen her before. And yeah, she's the one I-"

"I don't want to hear it." The Jang interrupted, her tone harsher than expected. "Jeonghan, I know you don't like me and never wanted to date me, but, do you really think that was the best decision? As my best friend, shouldn't you have understood how I felt?"

She paused for a few seconds.

"Couldn't you have at least tried for our relationship? Like, for me as someone you care about. And plus, going to kiss another girl wasn't the right way. Did you really have to marry another girl right after our marriage was cancelled? I thought you were better than this, Jeonghan."

"I'm sorry. I should've considered how you felt but I was too determined at that moment. You know, my father wants me to get married quickly and I liked Minji for a while-"

"For a while?" Soojin scoffed, throwing her head to the side as if she was deeply offended. "You only knew her for like what, three months? And you betrayed me for her? Don't you know the things she had done?"

The Yoon habitually clicked his tongue, "Please don't go on blabbering about some fake shit. Let's not end on a bad note, alright?"

"I'm not going to say some 'fake shit'. I just want to warn you before you get hurt by her. As your best friend, I want to prioritise your well-being and how you feel." She uttered ironically. 

"Don't worry too much about me, Soojin." Jeonghan mentioned her name finally, his tone rather stern that soft. "I know what I'm dealing with, so, please don't mingle around and allow me to marry who I want to marry."

"I'm warning you. I just don't want you to suffer what I felt. It's not fair." The Jang gritted her teeth. "Is there anything else you want to say? If not, I'm a bit busy so I'll appreciate it if you can leave."

"I wanted to invite you to our wedding. Because, you have been my best friend for years and it would be great if you could support me." The Yoon responded, a non-chalant expression on his face.

Soojin tsk-ed, "You want me to go to a wedding where it was supposed to be me? Inconsiderate, much."

"Soojin, you know I won't see you in that way so there's no point. Can't you just forgive and forget so we can go back to like how we were in our childhood?"

"Jeonghan, I waited so long for you. I cared for you. I stayed with you. I'm not upset because you cancelled the marriage." Well, I am. "I'm upset because I don't trust that Minji girl, I care for you and I want to protect you."

The Yoon let out a deep sigh, "I'll take care of everything myself, Soojin. Give up trying to control my life." He mumbled.
