It's been a few weeks since Ladybug had told Chat Noir Monarch's identity. She had a lot of people help her find the perfect moment to tell him, while others told her to rip off the bandaid. Unknowingly to Ladybug, the true identity of Monarch was a bigger problem to Chat Noir than she originally intended; it was his father. His father that had controlled him for years and manipulated the truth, affecting his ability to trust people. Now, Chat Noir, unwilling to trust Ladybug, has turned against her and her remaining allies. He had informed all their former allies of Ladybug's poor elaborate cover-up. This left Ladybug with little to no allies aside from Rena Rouge, Viperion, Vesperia, Ryuko, Argos, and Purple Tigress. BunnyX, for the safety of paradoxes, she remains in her rabbit hole, of course, to let our heroes figure it out themselves. Carapace is the only unlikely oddball out of this mess; Rena, his girlfriend unmasked, has tried everything to convince him it was for the better... he tries to sympathize, but he cannot.
Chat Noir's convincing argument successfully made most of Ladybug's entrusted heroes to abandon their assigned posts and follow the orders given by Chat Noir himself since they feel they could trust him. They all continued to have the same goal in mind: to take back the miraculous of the butterfly. Unfortunately for Ladybug, they were also hunting her down secretly to take back her miraculous since they had seen her as a corrupt leader. A corrupt leader whose power has gone to her head, therefore, can deceive every one who has attempted to assist her for the last year and a half.
For the last two weeks, after the previous attack where Ladybug and Chat Noir both failed to appear, the new team had decided to start collecting Akumas jars and send them to a neutral member of both teams to devilize them; they were still heroes after all. Argos had volunteered for this position in hopes no one would find out that he knew the identity of Ladybug and Chat Noir. Argos knew better than to out himself like that, mainly because Chat Noir does know that he is his cousin, unknowing to Chat Noir; however, Argos is well aware of his identity as well.

Hey, we got a 96 on our project! :)

Adrien smiles down at his phone with a warm fuzzy feeling attacking his nerves. "Gross," Plagg mumbles, eating a slice of Camembert. He rolls his eyes, "I wouldn't be so bold if I were you, Plagg." He chuckles, sending her a quick text back. Plagg rolls his eyes right back at him as he finishes his stinky cheese in one bite. "You, sir, have issues." Plagg muffles through his cheese-filled mouth. Adrien raises his eyebrow, "I'm not the one obsessed with cheese... at least this girl can love me back." Plagg ignores him as he continues to chew his stinky cheese.
Adrien sits back at his desk, staring at his dual monitors with schoolwork and Ladybug on the other. He inhales sharply, scrunching his eyes shut. He sits up and, grabs his mouse, and proceeds to drag all the pictures of her into the trash. Plagg watches from a distance and shakes his head, "Kid, you know she wouldn't have done what she did without-"
"I don't care what reason it was, to protect me? To protect my father, to protect Paris, it's all irrelevant. She lied to me, her partner. She doesn't trust me no matter how much effort I put into our teamwork. She will never trust me as much as I trust her." He mutters, clenching his jaw before laying his head down on his desk. Plagg floats over, "Are you sure this is about her lying, and it isn't about your own father." He lectures, pointing at the family portrait on Adrien's desk. Adrien groans, "No, that was the least shocking out of everything. I was more surprised she made a martyr out of the man who was a terrorist. Now that's my problem."
"So, what you're saying is if she would've told you who he was before telling Paris that your father was a hero when in reality he wasn't... you wouldn't be upset." Adrien sits up and stares at Plagg with fire in his eyes. "You don't get it. You were there." He snaps, pointing at him, "I don't understand why she didn't just outright tell me; it's not like she knows I'm Adrien. She didn't tell anyone else, and for what reason is there to justify that? Protecting Adrien Agreste... from what."
Plagg inhales, "You know I can't answer that," He crosses his arms, turning away from him to float back over to his little cheese-infested area on Adrien's nightstand. Adrien sighs as he changes his background on his computer back to his mother, propping his head on his hand. "Yeah, I know." He whispers to himself, pulling up the Ladyblog. It hasn't been updated since the attack where Ladybug and Chat Noir didn't show up. It's been about a week since then, which could be seen as a relief to many Parisians, but to their heroes, it's a sign of a more significant threat. They still don't know who this person is, even their gender or how they received the brooch. I don't even know where the fight took place; it could've been out in the open. It could be anyone. Adrien ponders on this idea of where the brooch could've been lost in the first place.

"Give me your miraculous, Chat Noir!" The villain demands in a childlike tone while staring down at Chat Noir and his remaining allies. The villain has been akumatized and is now a giant baby. Seriously... reusing Monarch's ideas for what purpose? Chat shakes his head at the lack of creativity. "The Akuma has an eighty-seven percent chance of being in his pacifier, similar to how Monarch akumatized him!" Pegasus states from behind, pointing at the comically large accessory. Chat nods in response as Pigella approaches the baby and presents a gift filled with candy to distract him. Chat uses this opportunity to jump up to the hand of the baby and cataclysms his adored pacifier. The dust of the accessory falls to the street below, and Argos swoops in with his jar and captures the Akuma. "Got it!" He exclaims as he tightens the lid. Chat sighs as he observes the damage the baby made, wishing someone could fix it all like Ladybug has done in the past.
The baby's mother appears, "I am so sorry! He wanted candy again. I didn't think he would get akumatized again... especially because Monarch isn't terrorizing us anymore... right?" She questions picking up her son. Chat grimaces, glancing at Pegasus and Pigella. "It's not Monarch, that's for sure." He responds, waving them both to leave before reporters swarm in. The mother gasps as reporters also swarm her. Argo swiftly exits and heads towards a disclosed location so Ladybug can hopefully repair everything. "Chat Noir, WHERE is Ladybug? Are you working alone now?" A reporter urges, shoving a microphone in his face. "Is this why you weren't at the final battle? Are you working alone? What caused the falling out?" Another asks, also shoving his mic right next to the other reporters. Chat inhales, "Yes, I am working alone, but with some friends who have seen the truth behind Ladybug's deceit." He exhales before vaulting away; he can't say anymore without utter panic erupting. He can't have all of Paris also hating him too for the mistakes of another.

Chat Noir arrives in his bedroom and detransforms immediately, falling onto his bed face first before handing Plagg a piece of Camemabert. "I shouldn't have said anything," He mumbles into his pillows, grasping them tightly between his fists. Plagg shakes his head in response, nibbling on his cheese. "Nope, you, out of all people, know what journalists will do with that information." He states with a mouthful of cheese. Adrien looks up at him, "Yeah, but obviously Chat Noir didn't." He mutters, sitting up on his bed. "I can imagine what the articles say now "Ladybug and Chat Noir Enemies?" Yeah, it's not necessarily a lie." He adds, walking over to his computer. He leans over and goes to the first article that the press has already released.

Ladybug and Chat Noir: Who is The Real Enemy?
Ladybug states she had lost the brooch... could she be using it for her own gain?

Adrien rolls his eyes at the subtext, "These people will theorize over anything. It's nothing like that... she has been at multiple attacks before this happened." He mumbled, scrolling down the page. Plagg shrugs, floating over behind his shoulder to see what Adrien is looking at. "They're making her the villain," Plagg exclaims, face-palming toward the computer screen. "Is that really wrong, though, Plagg?" Adrien snaps, looking back at his friend. Plagg looks down at his paw, "According to you, no. But is this really what you want... what you believe?" He inquires, tilting his head. Adrien sighed and looked down at the floor below him, "She isn't my main problem, but she needs to be held accountable for the misinformation she caused." He explains, rubbing his face with his hand and looking back up toward Plagg. "Being held accountable, so you turn nearly everyone against her within two weeks?" Adrien stares back at him, silent. "Maybe she shouldn't be a holder... let alone a guardian, Plagg. She's putting more people in danger than saving them. How can you not see that!" He fumed, throwing his hands above his head. Plagg blinks back at him, "Do you really think Ladybug would do that on purpose."
"I don't know her as well as I thought, Plagg, and obviously you don't either."

*Thank you all for 1k reads :) I can't believe how quickly this stupid little story has grown in 3 weeks! This was initially meant for me to have an outlet to theorize with my friend, and the fact that it has grown so fast (for someone w/o followers) is incredibly astonishing. PSA the next handful of chapters were written during my finals week... so, they might be shorter than usual due to time restraints and lack of ideas based around the chapters I have already constructed. HOWEVER, I have plenty of chapters planned with a decent story line! You all are in for a real adventure :) I promise.
