~Chapter 18~

{Akane's POV}
"I guess I will see you in a few days" I said hugging Shinya. I could feel his heart beating and his even breathing. I could feel pressure on my head as he kissed it. "I guess so" he said looking into my eyes with longing.
We stood in the front of the base as a helicopter prepared for departure. To avoid being seen by sibyl they were going to go over the ocean to the British rebellion which was a about a 50 miles away from the base we stood at now. It was dark and chilly. Shinya pulled off his jacket as Cassy gave him a new one that went along with the assigned uniform. "Keep this safe for me, I love this jacket and it would be awful if something would happen to it. That goes the same for you too" he said walking towards the loud helicopter. "Shinya!" I yelled, he turned to look at me. "I love you too!" I said, He smiled and we both went our ways. And he was gone, I watched as the helicopter flew higher and soon further away and out of sight.
I walked back into the base and went to bed. Alone.
I pulled out the letter he wrote on the back of my map.
Akane,
I know you've done a lot of waiting and worrying. Worrying about me, about our friends and about our future. Just know I want you to be in my future, and I want us to be together. The first day I saw you I knew I loved you, and the last day I saw you I didn't know if I was ever going to see you again. And now that I have seen you again I don't have to worry anymore and neither should you.

I read this not over and over agin just staring at it while I lay in bed. I put the note on the desk and set my alarm clock. I curled up in a ball and went to sleep.

{Shinya's POV}
A few hours after being in the helicopter we landed in a small opening in the forest. Cassy and I left as Roger stayed at the copter to make sure nothing happened. We were given AK-47's and pocket knifes incase we ran into trouble as we ventured through the forest to the British base. It was about a days walk to the base, so we packed food and water for a trip there and back and headed out. Roger kicked his feet up in the helicopter and closed his eyes,probably going to go to sleep since it was late. "Bye y'all" he said with a thick southern accent, in English. "Don't get lazy you ass, make sure you're ready to take off the next time you see us, because these people we are going to might not be friendly" Cassy said yelling at Roger. "Bye, I guess" I said as we started to walk. "So Shinya" Cassy said as we walked. "Yeah" I said awkwardly in English. "You speak English too, right?" She said in English. "Yes, English is my second language" I said. "Wow cool, glad to know you can understand me, because Japanese is my second language and I'm not very good at speaking it" she said kicking a rock that went rolling in front of us. "English isn't my strong suit" I said, "Well you seem to be speaking fine and you can understand me. So I'd say you're pretty good at speaking English" she said smiling at me. "I know the basics and I can have a conversation but I don't know what some words mean" I said scratching the back of my head. "Okay I'm 18 and have been speaking English my whole life and there are still words I have no clue what mean, that's why we have dictionaries and the Internet, people are making up words all the time" said said. "Well I guess that makes me feel a little better about myself" I said grabbing the straps of my back pack.
Snow began to fall from the sky and before too long we were treading ankle deep in snow. "Wow, this weather is awesome" Cassy said sarcastically. "Yeah it's great" I said pulling my hood over my head and zipped my coat up the rest of the way. We were a few miles away and it was getting dark so we set up camp.
"I'll get the wood" I said pulling out a small ax from my backpack. "Okay I will put up the tents and see if I can clear a space for the fire" Cassy said as I walked out into the forest. The wood was mostly dry and easy to cut, when I came back to the camp Cassy had both tents up and was in her hands and knees scooping snow to the side clearing a space for a fire. "The wood is dry... Mostly" I said dropping the wood inside my tent to keep it from getting any more wet. I helped clear a large space and then grabbed the wood and some kindling and instincts u reached in my pocket for my lighter, but then quickly realized I had left my lighter and cigarettes in my jacket. "Here" Cassy said rummaging through her back pack and pulled out a lighter. "Thanks" I said starting the fire. We ate and then sat around the fire for warmth. "I will take the first watch, you go ahead and get some sleep" I said rubbing my hands together.
"mh, Thanks" she said climbing into her tent and zipping it up. I knew it was going to be a long night. I couldn't help but think about Akane. I love you too echoed in my head as I wandered through my thoughts.
Halfway through the night I woke Cassy. "Hey, Cassy!" I loudly whispered. "Gotcha, my turn" she said poking her head out of her sleeping bag with messy hair. She sat down as I crawled into my tent and welcomed the darkness

"Shi- get- we've been" I heard Cassy say as I was being viciously shook.
"What?" I said sitting up, my vision was adjusting but is was easy to see the barrels of guns in my face.
"We've been found..." she said. I had been pulled out of the tent and was laying in the snow covered ground.
"Up both of yous" a man yelled in a thick British accent. "Easy, we are just from the other rebellion" I said standing slowly, Cassy doing the same. "I don't give a bloody hell who you are, you're coming with us" the same man said. We left our stuff and walked in the now mid-shin deep snow.
We walked and came upon a large base blanketed by the trees. We walked up the the main doors and the put handcuffs on us. "Look this really isn't necessary" Cassy started to say but was cut off by all of them laughing. "I don't get it" I said under my breath. "Don't get cocky" a guy said jabbing a gun into my back. We walked in and went to the general.
"State your name and business" he said. "I'm Cassy Irridessa, I'm with the American rebellion and I want sibyl to burn" she said gritting her teeth. "And you?" the man said pointing at me. "I am Shinya Kogami, I also am with the American rebellion and want sibyl to be something of the past" I said curling up my toes in my boots. "Cassy Irridessa, you re not on any of sibyls records, you are cleared and safe" he said clicking on the computer. "As for you Shinya Kogami it says here that you were a inspector and then you were demoted to enforcer... That is all, it shows nothing of your quitting or runaway. With this information we are to believe you are a possible spy for sibyl here to expose our whereabouts so your penalty is death. We can not let out top secret information" he said still looking at the screen. "But sir you don't understan-" Cassy said in retaliation but was silenced by two loud bangs.
