Chapter 9

POV: It's the year 1994

14 Year Old Andre's POV:

I woke up on a cold hard concrete floor. I was confused by what was going on.

"Well look who's awake." Alexander said looking down at me.

I came to a realization that I was kidnapped, but by Alexander Mariano? I thought him and my dad were allies.

"Your daddy owes me something, something huge." Alexander began talking.

"And I still didn't get that specific 'thing' yet." He continued.

"You know what happens to liars like your dad?" He asked me.

"They-" Alexander was about to speak but then there was a loud gunshot.

He quickly ran outside to see what was going on. All of a sudden two of his men dragged me outside and I saw my dad.

"Let go of him now Alexander." My dad said pointing the gun at him.

I turned around to see Alexander's daughter Alexandria, she looked horrified.

"And what happens if I don't?" Alexander said with sarcasm.

My dad pulled the trigger initially trying to shoot Alexander, but instead winded up shooting his daughter.

Alexander just stood there in shock.

"You'll pay this one day Santiago Herrera." Alexander said coldly.

*Present Day*

Andre's POV

I remembered that day like yesterday. The Mariano's will never even get near my family. I suddenly heard knocking which took me out of my thoughts.

"Come in." I said.

The door opened and it was Angel he looked like he had been crying.

"I had a bad dream, can I stay here with you guys?" He asked.

"Of course you can." I told him.

He climbed into the bed and laid his head down on my chest. I brushed his hair with my fingers until he fell asleep.

"He is so cute, I'm taking a picture." Laura said pulling out her phone.

"So do you know when your dad is planning on leaving?" Laura asked.

I laughed a little before answering.

"Honestly I don't even know, hopefully it's soon cause he's already getting on my nerves." I told her.

*Later on*

Angel's POV

I woke up from my nap and went downstairs. I saw my brothers with some of the cousins I seen at the party.

Matteo and Esmeralda.

Esmeralda ran towards me and hugged me tightly.

"I missed you so much oh my God we have so much to catch up on!!" Esmeralda said excitedly.

She grabbed my hand and dragged upstairs to my room.

"Sooo have any crushes yet??" She asked cheekily.

"What?! No!" I said with my eyes wide.

"Come onnn, I know you have to like someone." She said.

"Nope." I said smiling.

"Ugh you're lame." She jokingly throwing a pillow at me.
