- Courts POV -
I looked outside in the white weather.
I grabbed my bag, then made my way outside to the park we always go to..
"Hey stranger" He greeted me.
I waved back, squinting due to all the snow in my eye.
He opens a department in the motorcycle and takes out a helmet.
"Hop on." He insisted.
"...You sure about this?" I said, unsurely.
He nodded, then grabbed my hand and led me on the motorcycle.
"You ready?" He asked.

I wrapped my arms around His waist, my heart racing from both excitement and fear. "I think so..." I stuttered, trying to hide my nervousness.
"Where are we going anyway?" I asked.
"Ice skating." He said.
He turned around and saw me facepalm.
"What if I fall and make a fool of myself?" I pondered in my head.

Duncan's smirk grew as he sped the motorcycle down the snowy road. "Come on, sweetheart," he purred, guiding me off the bike when we arrived at the ice skating rink. "I'll teach you how to skate."

"Fine." I replied. "If I injure myself you're paying for my medical bills" I joked.
He grinned.
"You're fine." He assured me, "I'll take good care of you." He added, pulling me close.

We then rented the skates, and he took me on ice.
"Now, hold onto me tight and follow my lead," He instructed.
I gulped and did as he said, wrapping my arms around his neck. The cold air bit at my skin but I tried not to shiver as he laced his fingers through mine and guided us onto the ice. I was skeptical at first, but despite my initial reluctance, I found myself enjoying the sensation of gliding across the frozen surface.

His grip on my hand tightened just slightly, drawing me closer to him. Feeling both exhilarated and nervous, I looked up at Duncan, meeting his intense gaze. The warmth from his body mixed with the cold night air, creating an intoxicating sensation that made my heart race faster.

"I've always had a thing for you, sweetheart," he murmured, his breath hot against my neck. "
I thought for a minute. Was he about to ask me to be his girlfriend? Finally asking?

"But you know," he continued, his voice low and seductive, "I'm not exactly the type of guy you should be getting involved with. I've got a bad reputation, a criminal record—"

"I don't care." I said quietly, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear, looking at him dead in the eye.

He chuckled darkly, the sound vibrating against my skin. "Oh, sweetheart, you should. My actions might mean well sometimes, but they always end up causing trouble." He took a step back, his hands lingering on her hips before he reluctantly let go.
"So why do you do this?" I asked. "Why do you like to act bad and lead girls on and treat them like this? Why?" I said, my voice cracking.
"Because it's who I am," he replied simply, his eyes hardening slightly. "I'm a troublemaker, a bully. It's in my nature. But there's something about you that makes me want to be better—to try and change." He said.
"So you're an insensitive jerk face who think leading girls on is fun? I should of listened to everyone when they told me to not get close to you." I said, coldly, turning all my fear into anger.
Duncan's eyes flashed with anger at her words, but there was also a hint of sadness in them. "You think I'm not aware of that?" he snapped. "I know what kind of guy I am. But sometimes... sometimes I just can't help myself." He added.
I looked down at the ice. I didn't know what to say. "I thought you liked me.." I whispered.
"I do," he admitted, his voice low.
"If you like me then what's the problem?" I asked, curiously.
"Because I'm not good enough for you," He replied honestly. "I'm a troubled kid with a sketchy past, while you're a bright and promising student. We don't belong together."

I stayed silent, afraid that if I talk I would just break down right there.
"Are you.. hearing yourself?" I said, slowly and quietly.
"Yes, I am," He bit out, trying to control his emotions. "I'm not worthy of someone like you," he finished, the pain clear in his voice.
"Duncan..." I started to say, reaching out to touch him. But before I could, he pulled away, taking a step back.
"I shouldn't have crossed the line," he muttered, his voice thick with regret. "I'm sorry, I really am."
I didn't want to cry in front of him. Truth is things were different and most likely not going to be fixed now. "I just don't want to drag you down with me," he confessed.
"So.. that's it?" I said. "That's all? You completely shattered a girls heart and now it all ends here?" I added, probably with stuttering and voice cracks here and there.
He shrugged.
Afraid of breaking down, I whispered "Excuse me." leaving the rink and getting ready to leave.

"Court wait!" he called out, pulling up beside her car. She turned to look at him, her expression wary. "Look," he said, taking a deep breath, "I know I've messed up, but I want to try and make things better."
"...I don't need you to change yet. I like you for you.." she said, except softly.

"I know that, and I promise," he said, his voice barely above a whisper, "I'll try not to mess up anymore. I just...I don't want to lose you."  There was a moment of silence between them before he took a deep breath..
"Look, I've got nowhere else to be right now," he said, his voice laced with desperation. "Can I come in? Please?" He knew he was crossing boundaries, but he couldn't help himself.
"And what happened to your house?" The girl asked, curiously.
"It's...complicated," he admitted, trying to keep his story straight. "But I need you to know that I'm not trying to pressure you into anything. I just want to talk, okay?"
"Fine. But only talk and that's it.. nothing more and nothing less." She instructed.
He nodded in understanding, following her into the house. He sat down on the couch next to her, trying to keep his distance but still close enough to make a point. "Look," he said, resting his elbows on his knees, "I don't know what the future holds," he continued, "but I want to at least try to make things right between us. Can you forgive me?" He asked, hoping she could see the sincerity in his gaze.
The girl nodded, unsure of her decision.

"Thank you," he said softly, reaching out to take her hand in his. "I really appreciate that." His heart was racing as he felt her skin against his fingertips; it sent shivers down his spine. "So, what have you been up to lately?"
"Nothing" she blabbered out. It was true, she didn't have anything to do except hang out with him or study.
Well, I've got an idea," he said, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. "Why don't we study together? We can make it fun." He leaned in closer.
"Don't push it" she teased.
"Oh come on," he pleaded, "just a little bit of fun. You know you want to." He leaned in closer still, his body heat enveloping her. "And besides," he added with a grin.
"I have my ways of making things more interesting." His eyes darted down to her lips before meeting hers once more in an intense gaze.
"Can I ask you something?" she said, quietly. Usually she would focus on her studies, but it was killing her that she didn't know what she was to him. "Sure," he said, looking up from his book. "What's on your mind?" He leaned back against the cushions, watching her intently.
"What are we.." She muttered. "And what am I to you?" she added.
"You're... special. To me, you're everything," he admitted quietly. He didn't want to scare her off with his confession, but he couldn't keep it in anymore. It was the truth, and he needed her to know.
"What do you want us to be?" He asked.
"I'll think about it," She told him.
He nodded.
"Let's play 20 Questions" He suggested
"Okay" The girl nodded.

- Courtney's POV -
"Okay" I pondered in my head.
One word changed my whole Christmas because I told him about my family problems and how they won't even be here, and now he's spending his Christmas with me. Why would he do that..
