A Day In Summer

☀️ chapter 3

OLIVERS POV

Waking up with Hali's arms wrapped around me is not something i thought would happen when i received her offer to stay with her in her house. She is laying sideways facing me with her head resting on my bicep, she looks at peace with her nose slightly crinkled and her small steady breathes going in and out.

Her eyelashes start to flutter open, i panic seeing she is waking up and decide to fake being asleep, she took a deep breath in and i could feel her start to move around, sitting up muttering to herself 'oh crap' then flopping back down on my arm laying on her back facing the ceiling. I can feel her turn her head as the hairs on my arms stick up feeling her stare on me, the feeling doesn't last long before she turns back around into our original sleeping position and snuggles into me further ultimately deciding to go back to sleep

Her actions put a smile on my face as i discretely pull her closer to me and start to close my eyes again being welcomed back into a slumber.

I line up my Cue stick positioning it to be in line with one of the balls in front of me hopefully being able to get one into the little holes in the table.

My shot turned unlucky as it managed to just bounce the ball off the wall, Felix starts making fun of me not noticing the ginger headed wannabe walk up to our table, trying to join our game "Oliver maybe next time you should hit the ball like a man"

All our heads raise and our bodies straighten up, none of us say anything we just blankly stare at him as he rounds the table. We all know he is just trying to stir us up and create a fight. I worry that at some point it might work.

"you know it's a shame you can't play pool very well, i mean didn't you dad teach you?" Brody says with a small grin on his face, my jaw clenches at the mention of my dad

Felix notices this "okay Brody maybe you should just go" stepping in front of me walking forwards to attempt to push him back.

"no seriously did he not teach you? oh wait no he didn't i suppose he would have been to busy hitting your mum instead" he says having a shit-licking grin on his face.

i try to come toward him "what did you just say?" trying to see if he's willing to test me and repeat it again since Felix is standing in front of me if places his hand on my chest as a way to hold me back

Tyson comes into my eye-line "hey man it's not worth it let's just go" giving me a warm smile which you rarely see from Tyson. Seeing this makes me feel calmer mainly because my friends are here showing that they're here for me and want what's best for me. i give up and start go walk away with my best friends.

"oh come on Oliver your dad would have never backed down from a fight" i loose all my senses and turn back to him punching him in the jaw the power of my hand knocked him to the ground and his mouth starts bleeding getting drops of blood on the floor. I take deep breathes and look around as i see other people look at me in shock while other look scared
i'm just like him.

Tyson, Felix and I all walk away towards the exit heading to our cars, once we reach my car first i unlock it ready to jump in and get out of here as soon as i could. The pair of the boys stoped me before i could drive off "hey are you okay?" Felix said, "it's totally understandable if your not, i mean Brody was way out of line" Tyson added

"yeah i'm fine, don't worry" i reply brushing it off, sitting down in my car "see you guys later" closing my door as i hear them both sigh and mutter a good bye.

i drive off to my house in the hills, i feel like a robot as i enter my house and wash my face with cleanser. my body feels drained, my eyes slowly fall every now and again. i take my shirt off and put on different shorts to sleep in.

i lay down in my bed, tossing and turning. no matter how tired i am i never manage to actually have a good nights sleep. The best sleep i had in a while was last night when i was with Hali.

Hali is the kindest girl i've ever met and i find myself thinking about her and wanting to see her constantly. I can't get enough of her.
