i'm sorry nobody saved you.

i'm sorry he did not succeed in his mission

to cure you of what he deemed wrong.

i'm sorry you lived in a caving-in world

that couldn't be fixed when you entered it.

i'm sorry, eudy simelane, that nobody saved you.

i'm sorry, eudy simelane, that you had to be

the girl who came before us and proved

the world was as dangerous as we thought.

i'm sorry we all were born to an earth

that doesn't understand us and likely never will.

i'm sorry eudy.
