Khushi bit her nails anxiously, sitting in front of her mini Devi Maiyya idol. At the temple Payal had shocked her with the proposition. Her jiji who went ballistic at her ASR for treating her like that, now wants her to go back and work for that rakshas again?
Before she could ask anything, Buaji had called the girls back and since then she couldn't find a single moment to talk to Payal about her sudden request.
"Jiji!" Khushi shot up as Payal came into the room, drying her hair. "Subah se hamara dimaag kharab ho raha hain. Tum kyun chahthi ho ki main vapas AR mein naukri karoon?" [My head has been spinning since morning. Why do you want me to go back to AR for a job?]
Payal didn't answer and instead went to her desk and handed Khushi a file. "Yeh kya hai jiji?" [What is this jiji?]
"Tumhara admission form." [Your admission form.]
"Admission? Kiska?"
"MBA Correspondence course ka."
Khushi's eyes widened. "Kya? Kyun?" [Why?]
"Kyun matlab? Tumhe aage padhai karni thi na." Payal said as though it was a very casual occurrence and went back to drying her hair." [What do you mean why? You wanted to study further right?]
"Buaji nahi manengi." [Buaji won't allow.]
"Correspondence hai Khushi. Tujhe sirf exam dene ke liye jaana padega." [It's correspondence. You only have to go to the college for exams.]
"Aur ghar baithe baithe kaise padhai karungi? Itna saara kaam upar se Buaji ne dekh liya toh?" [And how will I study at home? I have so much work and top of that what if Buaji sees?]
"Isiliye tujhe naukri karne ke liye keh rahi hoon. AR mein rahogi, toh padhne ke liye time milega." [Precisely why I want you to resume your job at AR. You will get time to study.]
Khuhsi blinked and shook her head confused. "Ek minute, ek minute. ASR aur padhai? Kya jiji hame kuch nahi samajh aa raha." [How? How is me working for ASR related to my studies?]
Payal took a deep breath thinking about her conversation with the Raizadas.
Flashback
"Toh agar bharpaayi ke liye main kuch mangungi toh...." [So if I ask for anthing in return to make up for it.....]
"Kuch bhi Payal-ji, aap boliye toh sahi! Hum karne ko taiyaar hai!" [Anything Payal, you name it and we are ready to do it.]
Payal had made the decision.
"To Khushi ko aapke company mein naukri dikwaye. Lekin.....ASR ki parchaai bhi meri behen par padhni nahi chahiye. Aise naukri Khushi ko dilwaye jaah usse ASR se baath kya unke saamne bhi na aana padhe. Kar payenge aap?" [Then give Khushi a job in your company. But.....even ASR's shadow should not touch my sister. Give Khushi a job such that she wouldn't even have to face ASR. Will you be able to do that?]
