Klaus's POV
Amelia went to go find Gwen, knowing she is probably staring down every vampire waiting for the go to kill them. I left her to do her business as I had my own to attend to.
Marcel.
"Looking at what you've wrought?" I questioned as I found Marcel watching his surviving army burn the ones I murdered.
He swallowed hard as I walked over to him, he may have pledge allegiance to me but that didn't mean he wanted anything to do with me.
"Look, if you're going to kill me, let's get this over with." Marcel sighed as he met my eyes.
"Why would I kill you?" I scoffed, we both knew why I would kill him but unfortunately he picked up the coin and I was still in need of him. "You picked up the coin. There are rules in engagement Marcel, without them you'd have anarchy." I explained, his face falling at my words. "I would however like to talk about accommodations. Your living quarters for example, I believe they used to be mine." I finished with a smirk.
"You want all this? Fine. It's yours." Marcel tsked. "You can put me back on the street for all I care, but let's make one thing clear." He started to lecture. "You will never have this." He nodded his head towards his vampires. "Loyalty. You can't buy it. You can't own it. You can't force it. It comes only out of love and respect for the people who believe in you."
My lips parted at his words, hitting me like a brick as I watched his disappointment for me flood over him.
"You taught me many things, Niklaus Mikaelson. But this I learned myself..." Marcel said, his voice rough as he kept himself from crying over his vampires. "...and it is something you used to know, I'll admit that. But then you left Amelia, now there is no one left to love and respect you, so enjoy your kingdom."
He started to walk away but I grabbed his arm, swiftly turning him back around to look at me. "Speaking of Amelia..." I started as I clenched my jaw. "...if you ever lay another finger on my wife again, your allegiance will be nothing to me when I kill you." I threatened in a low voice.
"She's not your wife anymore." Marcel scoffed as he ripped his arm from my grasp. "I won't touch her." He finished before walking away.
"Wait." I spoke before he could get down the stairs. He didn't turn around as he stopped in his tracks, waiting for me to proceed. "Did you send Gwen a text off of Amelia's phone?"
"No." Marcel said as he looked over his shoulder towards me. "You think I wanted that crazy lunatic to come here?"
I laughed quietly to myself, my head shaking at his words. "Fair enough." I muttered as he walked away.
I made sure to make a mental note, reminding myself to tell Amelia and Gwen that he didn't send the message and I'm sure none of his vampires did either. It made sense, Gwen is a lunatic and he knows having her around could get him in trouble so no doubt he wants nothing to do with her being in the quarter.
"If you ever!" I heard Amelia's voice scream down the stairs. "Take away my fucking magic again!" She screamed as I ran down the steps, finding her screaming at Marcel as she pushed him. "I will fucking end you!"
"Lia..." I spoke cautiously as I approached them. Marcel was taking her pushes, letting her get her anger out because he knew he deserved it.
"No!" She yelled towards me. "Sit down!"
I held up my hands in defense, my smirk slipping out as I backed away and sat in an empty chair next to Gwen. If Amelia wants me to back off and let her handle it then so be it, I'll watch from right here and possibly get turned on by it.
