Amelia's POV
"Well this is fun." I said sarcastically as we walked the streets of the French quarter all dressed in black. "The one thing that can bring our whole family together is a funeral." I joked as we walked all together even Hayley.
Hayley went to give a laugh but instead came a small painful cough. She sighed in annoyance as she's been coughing all day but she is pregnant and I can't imagine walking all over the place is easy on her lungs.
"Are you alright?" Elijah asked her softly. "You look-"
"A hundred months pregnant and pissed off at the world?" She asked him, her hormones making her a bit feisty.
"I was going to say you look lovely." Elijah said matter of factly.
"Yes because if you were to say anything else I would've killed you." Gwen smiled at Elijah.
"Do you think I was the target of those bombings?" Hayley asked us as she looked at the owner of the casinos Francesca who was walking a few feet away from us.
"Well let's see." Gwen started, tapping her finger on her chin. "They never blown up the bayou before and then all of a sudden a pregnant werewolf with a miracle baby walks in and boom bye bye bayou!" She made a boom sound with her lips.
"If it were me you'd be my first kill." Klaus spoke. "I'd hang you up for everyone to see." He smiled playfully.
"I apologize for Gwen's rude approach to her answer." Elijah sighed, glaring towards Gwen. "But I believe that was Niklaus's way of telling you he would like you to come home." He spoke to Hayley. "Perhaps trying a different approach Niklaus." He offered to him.
"As much as I would hate to throw you over my shoulder with you kicking and screaming back to the compound we both know I will, for the sake of my child." Klaus said to her.
"One bad dream and suddenly you wanna be a responsible daddy." Hayley joked back.
"Please come back to the compound Hayley." I smirked as I kept both hands in my coat jacket. "I miss you talking to them like that." I said.
Hayley gave me a small laugh before pushing herself away from the conversation and walking towards the front of the crowd.
"Well that went well." I chuckled as I watched Hayley walk away.
Klaus draped his arm over my shoulder as we walked in sync. "She'll be back in no time." He said casually.
"Klaus!" A voice yelled over the crowd.
We all whipped our heads around to the voice that came from Genevieve, she pointed a finger towards where Hayley had walked to her face filled with worry. I looked over to see Hayley holding onto a pole, coughing something up and before we knew it she was becoming too weak to stand as she fell to the ground.
"Oh my god." I spoke before pushing through the crowd with the three of them right on my heel. "Hayley!" I yelled as we got closer.
Elijah pushed past me, quickly picking up her limp body. "To the living quarters! Now!" He yelled towards us.
We didn't give a beat before running off to the living quarters, slamming the gates open as Hayley was brought in all of us ushering in as he placed Hayley on a wooden table, lying her down gently.
"I can help!" Genevieve spoke as she walked in.
"Don't touch her." Elijah ordered, keeping his eyes on Hayley.
"No, let her." I said quickly as I realized Hayley's pulse was becoming weak. "Genevieve do a spell." I said quickly, ignoring Elijah's look.
"Why can't you do the spell?" Gwen asked me looking at me like I was insane.
