Thirty-two minutes before ten
I lay in bed
with eyes half open
My eyelids were begging me
to let them rest but I
couldn't grant their wish

I simply couldn't let
myself delve into slumber
for my mind has tasks
it wants to do
yet my body yearns rest

The neurons kept making
scenarios sketched in my head
so fictitious
so impossible to be true
yet it felt oddly warm
it makes my lip curve in
an upward parabola
then I remembered,
it's all just in my head.
