IFEANYI

"Ifeanyi!"

Stephanie screamed with excitement as she hurled herself into my open arms.

Assembly has just ended and we were already dismissed by the principal

She released me from the hug, looked at me with a smile and re hugged me again while muttering words of "I missed you so much". This earned a smile from me and then i clasped her so tightly we were nearly one person

She had no idea how much I missed her smiles, her troubles_ infact everything about her. I effortlessly carried her on my back to the class as she held on to me tightly and shouted clear roaddd! for anyone that stood in our way.

This girl shaa

I dropped her right in front of her class_Stephanie is a Science student.

Vincent was yet to be in school and I'm pretty sure he's still in bed. I started to head to my class_Arts class when Stephanie grabbed my right hand, pulling me back

"Won't you help me arrange my books in my locker?" She asked with a pout on her face

Stephanie is at it again

Whenever she needs Vincent and I to help her out with something, she wears this innocent look that makes it highly impossible to refuse her request

But not today

I mean I don't see the big the deal in the arrangements of books. I don't know why Stephanie _

"The look on your face is screaming Nooooo"
Stephanie said with a chuckle. "Don't worry yourself shaa. Vincent will help me out when he arrives"

I unconsciously let out a smile. She's being reasonable today

Simultaneously, she brought out her phone out of her bag and started to type on it

"And I don't know why a grown up man is yet to be in school by this time. Upon all my lectures I give to him, he still doesn't want to change. At least you've improved. And that's_

I tuned her voice out as I left her in that spot and headed to the direction of my class.

Who she wan use talk kill this early morning?

I'm pretty sure she'll scream out her lungs when she lifts her eyes from her phone and realize she had been talking to herself all along.

The class was agog with excitement as I expected when I stepped foot into the class. I bounced to my seat energetically amidst stares from my classmates.
I seldom talk or vibe with anyone in the whole of Winston High except my best friends.

But they're both science students which made my classmates see me as that proud boy who never talks with anyone

I brought out my headset and began to vibe to one of the music in my playlist. The memories of what happened this morning came flashing back into my mind

The more reason why I can never even believe in love

Mom loved my dad to a fault. My parents were the best couples. The people in Church saw them as a match made from heaven as my parents were chosen as marriage counselors in the church

Dad was always repeating the story of how he met mom during his high school days

She was the most beautiful girl in the class at that time that I felt I wasn't deserving of her

He had repeated this particular line too often that it got plastered in my memory. Dad was always spoiling her with lots of gifts, vacation and vice versa. Each time dad goes on a business trip, mom just sits at home looking dejected. She wouldn't even go to her boutique to make sales
