Autumn's standpoint

I looked at my wristwatch, it was almost time to leave so I could get ready for my somewhat date with Cai. Kayla was more than happy to let me go, we already had two new workers since I wasn't always around and I was going to stop working at the diner soon.

"Ms. Newton," one of the new hires said shyly. She was a very shy person, blushed a lot, and had a very innocent soul. Literally, she was twenty-three and still a virgin. Didn't know what a dick was or how it even looked like. And when she heard anyone swear, she covered her ears with a wince, as if the words were hurting her brain. Heck! The girl doesn't even know what a clit is and she is a woman.

It was amusing, very, very. I smiled warmly at her. "Yes, Izzy?"

"I was wondering if I could ask you for something, don't take it wrongly or anything—" she trailed off and looked over her shoulder. I didn't realize her sisters were there, all sitting at a table and giving her encouraging and pleading looks.

"It's okay, Izzy, you can talk to me," I assured her.

"I-I-I my sisters thought i-it's not like we are trying to use you or anything but we have been fighting this for two years now. We don't know how much longer he has and they thought that… At least, since we discovered that you are a doctor just yesterday, we thought about it all night and concluded that we don't have any choice… you are so nice and generous a-and… Please don't hate me or think I am trying to use you, please…" She broke into a sob as she continued to ramble while I watched her with amusement. "We will pay you, don't get us wrong. But we know you can treat him first while we struggle to get the money. We are all working, we will make your account our salary account and pay every month until the payment is complete—"

"Izzy, who is sick?"

"My father, he has myeloleukemia and newly developing lymphoblastic leukemia,"

"Wow," I mouthed.

"The doctors don't know if he will survive, but they are positive he has a higher percentage of surviving because his cells and marrow are stronger than expected… Or something like that. We just want to treat him before it gets too late." Her eyes roamed around nervously, not looking at me in the face.

I knew her to be a good girl and the day she was hired, she mentioned something about her father and five sisters meaning the world to her. Her father was a great man, so she said. I knew she and her sisters had been through a lot, so what the heck?

"Hold on," I walked out. I walked to my locker and fetched one of my special cards. I always carried four around because I seemed to be a good Samaritan. Almost everywhere I go, I end up helping someone. I fetched out the silver card and walked back to meet her at the counter.

"Here," I stretched the silver card to her. "Take your father to my hospital when you get the chance, and show the nurse this, tell her you got it from me directly. She will attend to you immediately. Don't worry about the charges, whatever doctor takes up your case will speak to me about it."

Her hands flew to her mouth, the card brushing her nose. Tears of disbelief rushed down her cheeks. "Just go meet your sisters—"

"Thank you!" She cried, falling on her knees before me. I looked around embarrassedly.

"Please, you are embarrassing me, please stand up or I change my mind," I whispered. She stood up immediately, running towards her sisters. I exhaled. On the card was a declaration to attend to them immediately and speak to me about anything concerning them, bills included. The gold card that I gave Chelsea's mother was for very, very important and dear people, or people with extra delicate cases.

A woman walked into the diner, her army green bag held nervously in front of her. She wore an army green and white long-sleeved button-up, a white pencil skirt that stretched across her hips to above her knees, and white heels. Her top was made in a black and white cow pattern, just that the black was army green. She paired the outfit with a matching army green wristwatch and white beaded bangles. Her makeup was dark to match the green in a sort of way, and she simply reeked of money.

Her pine green eyes ran around the diner before it fell on mine. We held each other's eye contact, neither of us wanting to let go. There was something about her that was familiar, just something I couldn't place my finger on. She smiled nervously, her smile reminded me of Cai's, her nose too. She had dirty blonde hair.

I watched her walk to me. To others, it would look majestic, but I could see she was melting as I gazed at her intensely. She stopped in front of the counter, dropped her bag, and sat on a stool nervously.

"Sorry, do I know you?" I blurted out. She chuckled.

"Even though we don't look alike one bit, somehow people have always been able to see him through me. Maybe it's the fact that we share the same nose and smile like our father or the trait of dirty blonde hair." She shrugged, trying to play it cool.

"Again, who are you?"

"My name is, unfortunately, Brianna Timberlake, I am Mordecai's younger half-sister," my mouth fell open, "he didn't tell you about me, did he?" Her eyes flashed with so much hurt as they glistened.

"This is all that bastard's fault! If he hadn't made Mordecai lose his trust in everyone related to my father, I wouldn't have lost my brother. Autumn, I came here because I thought maybe you could help me talk to him. Mordecai won't see or speak with me, he hates me because I am that man's daughter. I didn't do anything, I didn't hurt him but they did so badly and he added me to it." She sobbed.

"What—"

"After his mother died when he was nine, his father had me the following year with his nanny, but I never hated him, I loved him as much as he loved me. But after what Landon did, he left and never came back for me. I just want my brother back,"

"Have you tried talking to him?"

"He won't even listen, says he can't trust anyone anymore. Please, help me tell him I can redeem myself, I can help him now I am the Co CEO of my father's company. The company is going bankrupt, I want to suggest selling some shares out. Mordecai would buy them all and eventually become a high member, he can take back what he lost once he gets in. Or don't you think so?"

"I don't know about him taking revenge, I don't want Mordecai to live a life of revenge so I won't allow that," I said sternly.

"Then what am I supposed to do? We both know Landon is no good for the company and Mordecai is the heir, the true blood. Are you really going to let everything go? Even if he doesn't want it, I will because the company needs to stay in the family, not be run by the bastard that nearly ruined his life."

I looked at the ceiling thoughtfully, it was one way to put it. I knew Mordecai wouldn't take the company, but Landon and his mother had to go for everything they did to him. I clicked my tongue thoughtfully.

"I will help you talk to him, bring you two back together but you must promise me you won't tell him about the company, I will get it back myself—"

"What—"

"Trust me, I have people in high places that can help. We will work together to get the company under your name, is that okay?"

"I will think about it, but right now all I need is my brother, please help me." She pleaded. I knew Cai separated himself from her for a reason, I was going to find out first.
