Akanksha's POV
"Ughh... my back... it's paining terribly... ah mummaaa..." I groaned dramatically, flopping back on the bed like life had just betrayed me.
Mum peeked in from the door with that I-told-you-so look.
"Oh my poor baby... you lack all the essential nutrients and vitamins and calcium. That's the reason you've had back pain since you were a teenager."
I narrowed my eyes at her sass. "Mom I know that... you don't need to remind me while taunting."
She smirked. "You know me very well, don't you? Anyways, go get ready-you've got a long weekend ahead."
I sighed. "Okay maa."

I threw myself back onto the bed, legs dangling dramatically. Sam and Tapu both are busy today. What am I even supposed to do alone? Just then, my phone rang.
Incoming Call: Shubman Gill 🧿
I blinked, heart rate inexplicably doubling.
📞 "Um... hello Akanksha," his soft voice came through the speaker. "Hello Shub," I said, trying to sound cool. "I was wondering... maybe we can hangout today?"
I smiled. "Hmm... sounds good."
From the background: Ishan (yelling): "He's taking you on a date! Wear something good!!"
🙈 (Yeah, all our friends had been teasing us for days now...)
Shubman cleared his throat. "Don't mind him ha." "Okay Mr. Gill, see you at?" "11 a.m. It's already 9:30," he chuckled. "Okay see yaa."
I hung up, cheeks heating up. Why am I smiling like an idiot? Oh right-because he called first!

You ask when I started catching feelings? Let's rewind.
Flashback - Two Years Ago
I was in my hostel's balcony, casually scrolling Insta when a certain face flashed on my feed.
Wait... isn't he... what's his name again? Shubham? No no... Shubman. Yes! God, he looked so-cute AND handsome?! Unfair. 🥺
"It's just attraction," I had told myself. Except... days passed and I started noticing him more. Watching his interviews, highlights, fan edits. I even stumbled upon fanfiction about him... and maybe read a few 🙈
Yeah. It was never just attraction.

Back to the present:
Time to get ready!
I hopped into the shower after putting my phone and iPods on charge. Post-shower, I dialed the one person who could help me with this emergency:
