Analia

Polis was deserted-torchlit, dark, and I could still hear fighting in the distance.

The masked guards surrounded us, forcing us closer to the tower. "This way," one of them said, and led us to the temple. We descended down a flight of stairs I'd never known existed- Oh, God.

Bodies of grounders, maybe 20 of them, laid on the floor around a hatch located in the center. My suspicions were confirmed when one of the men said, "He wants them in the airlock control room. These are the last we could find."

He? The last they could find? Panic rose, but when I looked at Bellamy, he held my gaze. His expression blazed with purpose, reminding me I was with the man who would get me through anything.

When one of them opened the hatch, the other guards forced Bellamy and I to climb down behind him and we dropped down into an empty dim lit room.

"I'm taking it this is the bunker," Murphy chided, earning a harsh shove from one of the masked men. With a silent nod, the group holding Emori and Murphy directed them down a different hallway, separating them from Bellamy and I. Still, we didn't protest.

Metal floors and white walls surrounded us, more like a prison. At this point, I've spent more time on earth trapped in places than outside- how cliche.

We followed the men down a hallway that led to an adjoining room with an opened door labeled: 'Airlock control room.'

Finally, the lead guard finally took off his mask and coat, the others followed. I recognized them all as Skaikru's guards- We entered the room and I froze.

Jaha. He stood up from behind a desk, the office room lined with a supply of bookcases. "Analia, Bellamy." He faced the guards. "Anyone besides the 4?"

They shook their heads. "That's the last we could find. The other two are separated as you asked."

When Bellamy and I shared another look, I tried not to reveal how on edge I was, but his gaze darkened on my shaking hands. Bellamy shoved the guards aside, luminescence from the overhead light traveling over his murderous expression. "What the hell is this?"

"Sit down," Jaha instructed. "And I'll explain why you're here."

"You'll explain now," Bellamy seethed, and this time, Jaha didn't protest.

"This bunker is your new home. It belongs to Skaikru alone. Starting tonight, our new life begins. We have everything we need: hydroponic farms, a water recycler, cafeteria, generators-"

I cut him off. "Where are the other clans?"

Jaha turned to me, expression growing indignant. "When you left, the entire city turned into a war zone. Kane and Gaia were only able to keep the peace for so long before the other clans found out about the bunker. When they did, they chose to have a final conclave: one warrior from each clan will fight until the last one remains... but if only one clan can survive, it will be ours. I discovered this bunker, and it belongs to us. I sent guards to collect any of our people they could find, and now the hatch is officially shut for the next 5 years."
