I sat at the coffee shop and stared outside, patiently waiting for Jess to arrive with some good news. It was a beautiful night and I felt energized. I felt like things would finally fall into place and I could move onto bigger and better things.
I could see the outline of a silhouette approach the door and a minute later I had Jessica sitting in front of me with a big pout on her face. She looked stressed and her pretty smooth face was overrun with worry lines . I felt a little jump in the pit of my stomach, but reminded myself that her actions would mostly fall on her. She had a lot more to lose with this scheme and I already knew that if things went south, she would get the wrath of Jake unleased in her direction.
"So....don't keep me in suspense, tell me everything" I gave her a sweet smile. I didn't like her much and at the end of this, she would be another person that would be in the way of what I wanted but needed her for now. When she first reached out, I could sense the hatred that she had towards Mila because of Jake. Upon speaking to her further, it was clear to see the levels of her obsessions with him were extreme.
"Things didn't exactly go as planned." I could see the tears pool in the corner of her eyes as she grabbed a napkin and dabbed them softly.
I reached out and held her hand, looking very sympathetic, while nodding for her to proceed with her story.
"Ok, so I followed the plan. I had a group of girls dance beside her and her friend and steal her phone. Once I had it, I messaged Jake pretending to be her and lured him into the office. I made sure to hire the girl you recommended and styled her to look as much as Mila as I could. I had a sense of what she would be wearing as i was the one who bought her wardrobe for Jakes house "I could see the venom in her words as she said her name. "When he excused himself and ran into that room like a lovesick idiot, I had the model go in and called Mila up to walk in on him."
She reached over and grabbed my water, gulping it down in one motion. She placed the glass down and I could see her well manicured hands begin to shake.
"Then what?" I was greedy for information, and based on how nervous she was, I felt like I wouldn't have to worry much about her being in my way.
"Well the plan was for her to see him, confront him and take off. He was supposed to follow her and the girl was to be slipped out the back with no one noticing a thing. Except Milas friend punched Jake and stayed behind to yell at him, giving Mila the chance to escape. He couldn't follow her because she had him blocked, so he didn't see her getting into Sebastians car. Also, I wasn't able to get the model out and before I could come up with a back up plan, Gary was already sitting and guarding her." He tears now spilled freely and I could see her makeup fall down her cheeks. "She will tell him everything and he will know what I did. I don't know how mad at me he's going to be or if he'll even forgive me. I was supposed to be there to comfort him tonight, now I'm hiding from him and have no where to go."
"Shhh....Don't cry" I tried to reassure her, she needed to see me as an ally and not someone to put the blame on, "Here's my credit card, go to the nearest hotel and clean yourself up and relax while I get a hold of Sebastian and come up with our next step. For all we know they may be back at her house reconciling. You did great and should be proud of yourself for looking out for the man you love. And you said it yourself, Jake loves you and this was a ploy to make you jealous. He will be happy she's gone and you two can finally be together. She is never someones first choice and Sebastian only went back to her because I got bored of him. If I didn't dump him, he'd still be following me around like a love sick puppy. Just give it a few days and you and him will finally be together."
She took my credit card, nodded her head, and pulled herself together.
"Ok, let me know as soon as you hear anything, ok?" She got up and made her way to leave.
"Oh and Jess, can you see what you can find out from the Model" If Jess was lucky and she didn't say a thing, her job would still be intact. If she did say something, maybe we can get ahead of it and do some damage control and finally, if she was now under Jakes control, Jess would be walking into a lions den without even knowing it.
