Words... Colors.... Such beautiful things. Or so I think. Words and colors are often taken for granted. Especially three little words.

They say people have trouble expressing themselves or saying what they mean. So what if you can't...
Levana walked into the dining room following Clint. There were six others in the room besides the six she had met this morning. From behind Clint she saw them looking at him and figured he was talking to them.
"Guys this is Levana Drakos she's Colson and Hill's adopted daughter. Remember she's deaf and mute so watch what you say around her." Clint said before turning to Levana and pointing her to an empty chair between Wanda and Natasha.
"Hi again!" Wanda said when the younger girl looked at her. Levana waved shyly back as she could feel all the others looking at her.
Before long everyone had served their plates and were talking amongst themselves. Levana kept her head down as she ate not wanting to intrude.
"Is she ok?" Pietro asked his sister as he pointed at the new girl.
"Don't point." His twin said slapping his hand down from across the table. "And I think she's just shy around so many people."
"Oh...hmmmmmm." Pietro hummed getting an idea.
"Pietro whatever you're thinking stop thinking it!" Bruce said knowing the look on his face.
Pietro knocked on the table. Feeling the vibrations Levana looked up at him before tilting her head slightly.
"You can read lips right?" He asked. She nodded her head yes.
"Cool I don't know sign language is it hard to learn?" He asked. Pietro didn't know why but he wanted her to feel comfortable around him. He was planning on asking simple yes or no questions for her to answer hopefully she would feel more at home.
*No* She signed shaking her head and smiling softly.
"Can you teach me then?" He asked. She signed yes while nodding her head.
"Nice. Did you like your room?" He asked. She moved her head in a so/so motion.
"It's bland isn't it?" He asked with a smirk. She nodded with a bit of a silent laugh.
"Wow you're actually mute." Pietro blurted out receiving a smack to the back of his head by Bucky. Levana's smile left her face to be replaced by a angry scowl. She slammed her hands on the table while standing up.
*You piece of shit! I actually thought you cared for a sec but no it's always the same thing.* She angerly signed. While deep in her chest a deep menacing growl arose shaking them all to the core as she glared at Pietro with once grey eyes that were now a bright electric purple blue.

The avengers wore shocked and maybe (definitely) scared faces. They had been informed that she was enhanced but didn't know how. Even though she wasn't showing or using her abilities they still felt compelled to respect the young women. Now it was clear exactly why she was put on the team.
Levana turned and walked away her long silver holographic looking hair swishing behind her. Did she know what just happened?
