The Great Hall at Hogwarts was a sight to behold, with its towering and enchanted ceiling that mimicked the night sky. As I entered, the air buzzed with excitement and the hum of conversations. My heart pounded with excitement as I followed my sister Hermione and my friends Harry and Ron towards the Gryffindor table.

"Don't be nervous Y/n! You will be ok." Hermione comforted me.

"Yeah! And I think you'll be Gryffindor for sure!" Harry added on as Ron nodded his head in agreement.

The sorting hat ceremony started, and I watched with bated breath as first-years were called to find their houses. The Sorting Hat's words echoed through the hall, announcing each new member of the Hogwarts community.

Finally, it was my turn. I approached the front, feeling a mix of nervousness and excitement. The sea of faces in the Great Hall turned to look at me as I made our way to the front. Some were curious, others indifferent, but I held my head high, and walked with confidence.

The Sorting Hat was placed upon my head, and it began its silent deliberation. The Great Hall fell into a hushed silence as everyone waited for the Sorting Hat to make its decision.

"Hmmm... You are a difficult one..." The sorting hat said. "Courageous and adventurous." I couldn't help but smile at the fact that I was going to be put in Gryffindor with my friends.

"But!" The sorting hat shouted. "You are... different... very different."

After what felt like an eternity, the Sorting Hat shouted, "Gryffindor!" The Gryffindor table erupted into cheers and I couldn't help but smile. I exchanged looks with Hermione as she looked at me proudly.

"Wait!" As I was about to get up, the sorting hat shouted again. Everyone started to whisper and the Gryffindor table stopped cheering.

"Slytherin!" The sorting hat shouted again.

Everyone started murmuring. Wait what's happening? Me assigned to 2 Houses? But it wasn't over yet. The sorting hat shouted once more.

"Ravenclaw!"

The Great Hall fell into stunned silence as the Sorting Hat called out the third house. I stood there, feeling a mixture of confusion and disbelief. Was this some kind of joke? The hat continued.

"Hufflepuff!"

The hall erupted into chaos, with students and professors alike exchanging glances. I stood at the front, wearing the Sorting Hat that seemed determined to place me in every house at Hogwarts.

"Y/n Granger, You go back to your seat." Professor McGonagall announced, trying to restore order to the Great Hall. I made my way to the Gryffindor table, feeling the stare of every student lingering upon me. I took a seat at the Gryffindor table, unsure of what to do.

Hermione, Harry, and Ron looked at me with wide eyes, their expressions mirroring my own confusion.

As I sat down, the whispers and murmurs continued around me. The professors were engaged in a heated discussion, likely trying to figure out what just happened.

Even Hermione, who was usually quick to understand and explain, wore an expression of bewilderment on her face. I kind of enjoyed the attention I got and was feeling good and confused at the same time. It seemed that the Sorting Hat's decision had left everyone in a state of confusement.

"What in Merlin's beard just happened?" Ron muttered, his brow furrowed with confusion.

Hermione, always the voice of reason, added on, "I've read about anomalies in magical sorting, but this is truly unprecedented. Y/n, have you ever heard of someone being sorted into multiple houses?"

I shook my head. "No, it's completely new to me. I didn't even know it was possible."

As we continued to chat about the situation I was in, a voice interrupted our conversation. "Hey! You are Y/n, right?"

I turned to see the blonde boy I had encountered on the train, extending his hand with a confident smile at the Slytherin table.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Draco. Draco Malfoy." He continued to introduce himself.

Despite the earlier rudeness, I greeted him cautiously and shook his hand. "Nice to meet you too, Draco."

He glanced at Harry, Hermione, and Ron before continuing, "Mind if I join you? Quite the show you put on there."

"Shut up Malfoy and get lost!" Harry shouted at him.

"Why? Worried that I'll steal Y/n from you, Potter?" Draco spat back wearing a smirk on his lips.

As Potter and Draco continued to fight, the professors began to clear the Great Hall, and soon Professor McGonagall approached me. "Y/n Granger, may I have a word?"

I excused myself from the table, following Professor McGonagall to a quieter corner of the hall. The other professors, including Professor Snape and Professor Flitwick, joined her.

"Y/n, the sorting was indeed unusual, and we'd like to discuss it further," Professor McGonagall explained. "You have the opportunity to go through the sorting process again privately. It's not something we usually offer, but given the circumstances, we believe it's the best course of action."

She led me to the front as I settled into the chair for the second time, the Sorting Hat was placed upon my head once more.

"Hmmm, you want another chance?" The sorting hat spoke. "I stand by what I said. But I have a better idea..."

"You must be..." The Sorting hat thought for a second before shouting for the last time.

"Slytherin!"
