It was only the nocturnal radiance from the moon that passed through the thin leaves that illuminated the forest. However, it was enough for Keiran to see the unveiled features of Lucien. The feature he wouldn't thought would exist in this lifetime.

"Just....... What are you?" With his knees trembling, his breath hitching, and his chest pounding, the boy managed to ask Lucien. It was then that Keiran noticed something inexplicable happening to Lucien's appearance.

Lucien's cold, amber eyes, which had always held a certain mystique, transformed before Keiran's bewildered gaze. The once mesmerizing eyes turned into a fiery crimson, radiating an intensity that sent shivers down Keiran's spine. It was as if the very essence of Lucien had shifted into something far more primal and dangerous.

As Keiran struggled to comprehend the sudden transformation, another shocking revelation awaited him. Lucien's lips curled back, revealing elongated fangs that glistened in the moonlight. The sight struck Keiran with a mixture of confusion and fear.

"What do you think am I?"

The air around them seemed to thicken as Lucien's predatory gaze locked onto Keiran. A realization dawned upon Keiran that what he was witnessing surpassed the bounds of human understanding. Lucien's dual nature, blending vampire-like features with a mysterious and primal aura, left Keiran speechless.

The revelation took a darker turn when Keiran noticed that Lucien's hands and clothes were stained with the vivid red of fresh blood – the aftermath of a brutal encounter with the wolf in the forest. The scent of iron and the metallic tang of blood lingered in the air.

Keiran felt the lump stuck in his throat, and he couldn't muster even a single strength to utter the word. He just stared at the cold, blood-shed orbs of Lucien. The young boy swallowed hard as his jaw tensed.

"A... V-Vampire..." He uttered with eyes shut out of fear because any minute from now this blood-thirsty fellow might drain all of his blood without leaving any traces of him. The crimson eyes held a hunger and intensity that sent a shiver down Keiran's spine. It was a moment frozen in time, an encounter with the unknown that left Keiran grappling with emotions he never thought he would experience.

As Lucien stepped towards him, Keiran almost stumbled on his feet as he took a step backward. Keiran felt his breath hitched when his back touched a tree trunk. This is it, this will be the end of me. He thought.

"Scared?" His cold breath sent more shivers down Keiran's spine.

In that surreal clearing, surrounded by the enigmatic whispers of the forest, Keiran found himself face to face with a side of Lucien that defied logic and reason. The question of what lay beneath the surface of this mysterious newcomer had been answered. Still, it only deepened the mystery, leaving Keiran with a tangled web of emotions and an unshakable sense of foreboding.

"No," Keiran said, trying his best not to stammer. There's a fifty-fifty chance of him leaving this forest alive, especially now that he knows his biggest secret.

"You're worried about your chances of leaving this forest unscathed." Keiran widened his eyes. Is it true that vampires can read minds? He thought. If that's the case then he must be cautious around him.

Keiran noticed him snickered. "How-- I mean-- Of course not." He answered, filling his voice with firm courage. He should not let Lucien bother him.

However, he felt his chest skip a beat when Lucien began to move his face towards Keiran's neck. He can also feel the warmth released from Lucien's breath.

"Really? I might suck your blood any time from now." Keiran breathed deeply when he moved even closer and touched his lips onto Keiran's neck.

"Stop it!" Keiran yelled and pushed him with all his remaining strength, although it only caused Lucien to move just a meter away from him.

"Okay fine, I admit it. I was a bit taken aback upon knowing your identity. But, could you please spare me? I promise not to tell anyone. And also I will not force you to join our club." He said as he drew a cross on his heart.

Lucien didn't have a choice but to sigh. For some reason, he wasn't planning on doing those deeds to Keiran in the first place. "Follow me." He blandly said and walked away, leaving Keiran confused.

"Hey, Lucien wait. You're not going to eat me right?" Keiran asked but he didn't get any response from the other party. So, he grabbed back his strength and ran towards Lucien. Keiran noticed that they were walking the path they had taken earlier, so his confidence about returning to the highway slowly began to come back. However, not totally since Lucien is still beside him, so the chances of him being targeted by this cold-blooded vampire are still present.

"You're going to spare me, right?" Keiran continuously asked Lucien until Lucien started to get annoyed and turned to him.

"One more question from you and I'm going to change my mind." Keiran gulped upon hearing those words from him. He'd better keep his mouth shut until they reach to the main road.

"Oh, I could see the main road from here." The worries that had been bothering his heart were suddenly lifted as soon as he saw the cars running on the main road.

Lucien expected him to run away since Keiran already had the chance to run for help after what happened. But Keiran didn't run and walked away yet. Instead, he smiled radiantly at Lucien as if nothing happened. There were also no traces of fear and discomfort in Keiran's eyes, it was like Keiran turned into a different person.

He was about to leave when Keiran called him.

"Hm, just want to say thank you for saving me earlier... And I'm sorry for following you." The young man saw the sincerity in Keiran's eyes, no traces of fear. Lucien didn't utter a word and continued to walk away as if he never heard Keiran's words. He hadn't gone far when he heard him shout again.

"Don't worry. I won't tell anyone, promise." As Lucien paused and turned, Keiran was no longer there.

"You dummy." He murmured as his brims suddenly raised on the corners, feeling his heart melting when Keiran's smile flashed into his mind.

*************

"You dummies, my decision's final, we'll stop bothering the newbie about recruiting him into our club, and my life will be at peace. " Keiran announced as he put his notes and borrowed books on the table. The three of them were gathered in the library since the instructor assigned them to have their group report by the next meeting.

"Did something happen?" asked Krist with his eyes filled with curiosity and suspicions.

"No, nothing happened..." Keiran secretly crossed his fingers upon telling a lie to his friends.

"It's just that, I suddenly realized that we can't force someone to join our group especially when they are not interested at all." He continued.

His friends both looked at each other, contemplating that their friend was right. Krist heaved out a deep breath.

"So, what are we going to do now?" Rytz asked. Keiran didn't utter a word. Now, they went back to zero which is distributing flyers to recruit anybody.

"I'm going to join your club." The three of them froze as if they saw a ghost upon hearing a deep cold voice from behind.
