caspian's birthday came round fairly quickly, falling at the end of june. despite having been friends with haven for over two months, maeve was still yet to meet her brother (aside from the coffee shop incident, of course). the cooper family home was in north los angeles, and xolo had agreed to give maeve and taiyo a lift, along with lacy.
when he pulled up outside maeve's apartment, lacy was already sitting shot gun— which, of course, made sense, since they were dating. for the first time since she'd learnt it, that detail had slipped maeve's mind for a moment.
her and taiyo climbed in the car, and, meeting xolo's eyes in the rear-view mirror, maeve grinned.
"i thought i told uber to send a different driver this time."
