The episode opens with an establishing shot of the window of a hospital room. The windowsill has some get well soon cards - one with a fairy godmother stuffed plushie, one with googley-eyed bandages, and one with a teddy bear wearing a bandage. Beside the window is a mylar heart baloon and a bouquet of flowers.
Cut to Naru, sitting sadly on a hospital bed. Kana sits at her bedside, and a doctor is holding a stethoscope on Naru's back.
Doctor: "Okay, take a big breath in for me, Naru."
Naru takes a deep breath.
Doctor: "Ooh, that was a big one."
Naru: (whispering to Kana) "Can you ask her if I can go home?"
Kana: "Do you think we can go home soon, Doctor?"
The doctor walks to the foot of the bed and makes a note on Naru's chart.
Doctor: "We might just keep you in for another night, Naru. Just to keep an eye on you."
The doctor leaves. Naru hugs her own knees and turns to her mother.
Naru: "I wanna go home."
Kana sighs.
Kana: "I know, sweetie."
Kana places her hand on Naru's shoulder.
Kana: "Me too."
Naru: "It's not fair."
Kana: "Yeah... I guess it isn't. But here we are."
The tablet chimes. The screen lights up.
Kana: "Oh, look. "
Kana picks up the tablet.
Kana: "Dad sent us a message."
Kana swipes to open the message. The tablet chimes again.
Kana: "It's a video!"
Naru: "Can I push play?"
Kana: "Yeah. Go on."
