we walk into studio A and the pyramid isn't looking to great
"well well well here we all are again." Abby says
"here's your contract" Kelly walks in and says
"get in there girls"
"ladies last week we went to a competition in fortwane indiana there were over a thousand people just to see the Abby Lee Dance Company while you were all out in the parking lot, Sophia was in here learning as you can clearly see we don't have a pyramid here" Abby says
"Chloe, Nia, Maddie, Mackenzie, Evie, Kendall, you all realise with the exception of Sophia that you are on probation you are all on the same playing field." i bite my lip
"that's what all of you wanted you didn't like the pyramid moms you wanted all the kids to be treated equally that's what you got" Abby reveals Sophias headshot at the top
"Jackie you're okay with your kid being a winner i know that i can count on her that she's a team player Jackie i watched you in the dressing room i watched you help everybody with their hair i watched you be kind to all the other women and i appreciate that."
"this week we are going to Ohio the group routine is called red carpet special it's a really spicey hot funky number."
"Sophia you're doing a solo called superstar i think you did an outstanding job last week and i want the same thing."
"how many turns do you do?"
"fifty four" Sophia answers
"why do i want someone who can only do fifty three?" Abby asks and i look down
"i would prefer to not take any other soloist but i committed to the competition so we're going, my next solo will be Chloe its contemporary you are the national title holder and you want to keep it up then you have to keep winning." Abby says
"i have one more solo, Evie your mother raves about you being this star who's so good and who's a brilliant turner and who wins all the time, so this week you have a Lyrical solo."i nod
"now i want to direct my attention to the moms i need to see your loyalty for what i'm doing for your children you will have assignments and you're going to do a whole lot more than sit on your butts in my studio"
"we have other children other responsibilities and you're not incharge of us" Christi says and Abby makes a face
"ladies spread apart we have lots of work to do" Abby says

|Solo Rehearsals|
"you're solo this week is entitled Someone else." Abby says and i nod
"it's a Lyrical piece where you have to act like your being replaced, Like there is someone else there, maybe that's Sophia?."
"alright let's start" we learn my routine and there's a lot of turns, like a lot i basically pose leap act turn and repeat
"your mother says you're a turner." Abby says as i finish the routine
"your turns are good but not Sophia Lucia good." Abby says and i get up and i stare at her
"kicks could be better acting could be better the whole thing could just be better. last year every contemporary routine you knocked it out of the park last season was really your season but i think as soon as Chloe beat you and you sitting on in that parking lot made you regress." Abby says
"if this isn't perfect for tomorrow you aren't doing the routine, because i don't have time to nit pick mistakes with you we leave tomorrow." Abby says, i nod and i leave
"what's wrong?" Maddie asks as i walk into the dressing room
"Abby said that mom thinks i'm this good turner but i'm not even that good and that i've regressed because i sat out in the parking lot and if the routine isn't perfect for tomorrow i'm not allowed to do it" i say getting upset
"don't cry' Maddie comes over and hugs me
"i'm just frustrated" i say and i wipe tears
"i know, do you want mom." Maddie says
"no because Abby will see me crying and she'll get mad." i say as i try to compose myself

|One Day To Competition|
we leave today i don't feel confident at all.,
Abby runs Sophias number and i feel physically sick.
"thanks for doing your turns for us i appreciate it" Abby says and high fives Sophia
"okay Evie go." Abby says to me and i get up and do my solo and i act the absolute life out of it and make sure my turns are spot on, i finish my dance on the floor
