The tears dried onto Hannah's cheeks, as she clutched onto her phone. The messages still lighting up her screen, as she tried to calm herself down. She could hear the laughter of her two best friends, just a few rooms away from her.

"Hannah's been gone a while," Sunoo said, as he turned to look towards the hallway of your apartment.

"You're right...She didn't say she was going to take a nap or anything. We should go check," You said, getting up from the couch, with Sunoo closely behind you.

You walked through the hallway, towards Hannah's room. Noticing that the door was closed, you felt like something was off. Hannah only closed her door at night or if she was getting changed. You raised your hand to the door, lightly knocking.

"Hannah, can we come in?" Your voice was quiet. You heard shuffling from inside the room, then a few seconds later the door opened. Your eyes met Hannah's eyes, red from crying. Sunoo noticed her eyes too, not leaving a second before he hugged her tightly.

"What's wrong, Hannie?" He asked, the concern in his voice apparent. Sunoo slightly let go of Hannah, looking into her eyes to reassure her that she could tell him anything. Hannah looked at you, then at Sunoo, then walked away from Sunoo's hug to pick up her phone. She unlocked her phone, opened her messages, and turned the screen towards you and Sunoo.

"I thought he was gone for good..." Hannah's voice broke and her eyes filled up with tears again.

"I'm so sorry, Hannah," You said, as you pulled your best friend in. You let her tears soak your shirt, the way she'd let you when you were going through your worst moments.

You knew that Hannah didn't deserve any of this. She was the kindest, most genuine person in the world, but sometimes the universe dealt her the worst possible cards. Romeo seemed sweet at first, but soon enough he started showing his toxic side. He was clingy, but in a way which was unhealthy. He needed her by his side all the time. And worse, he hated your guts. Never a smile or a nice greeting, always a poker face when he saw you. And when she finally had the courage to break up with him, she thought he would stay away from her. But barely one year later, he was still stuck up on her.

"I'll talk to him," Sunoo stated, willing to do anything for his best friends. "If he wants to treat you like this, then he's gonna have to deal with me."
