Jake processes Jungwon's words. Would he be able to get over you that quickly? He wasn't sure, but what he was sure about, was that he needed to move on.

"I need to,"  Jake says, plainly. "I can't sit here and have feelings for my best friend."

Sunghoon gasps loudly, clearly about to make a joke. "You.....have feelings? For your best friend?" He points to himself, pretending to be taken aback. Jake rolls his eyes, not amused by Sunghoon's attempt at a joke.

"Shut up!" Jungwon says, his voice is sweet, but his words are rather the opposite.

"Oh, come onnnn!" Sunghoon whines. "It was hilarious."

"Your existence is the only joke here," Jake retorts, smiling wide.

"And this is why I keep my mouth shut!" Sunghoon sinks into the couch, sulking.

"Can we focus, please?" Jungwon stands up, pacing around the room slowly.

"Yeah, well, I just think I gotta do whatever it takes for me to get over her. No more feelings, no more stupid shit," Jake's voice is stern. He's made up his mind.

"Nah, this is insane development. Weren't you just talking about being so incredibly down bad for her, like what, two weeks ago?" Sunghoon says, his body still pressed into the couch.

"Yeah, that was two weeks ago. Not now." Jake shoots Sunghoon a look, almost asking the other to take the situation more seriously.

"So, you've made up your mind. You're determined to get over her...." Sunghoon's voice takes on a more serious tone.

"Yeah, I think that's a good idea. If you don't wanna pursue her, then, just let it go. Better for your heart and for your friendship with her," Jungwon advice, still walking around the room.

Jake nods. "Yeah, yeah, it's better than getting myself hurt. And this way, I can be her 'good old Jakey' again. I won't feel awkward."

"Well, let's make some progress then." Jungwon picks up Jake's phone and passes it to him. "Call her. Apologise for what you said to Heeseung."

Jake takes the phone, reluctantly. He wants to call, to apologise, to get his best friend back to being his best friend. But, the last thing he wants to chat about is Heeseung. Just because I'm no longer crushing on her, doesn't mean that I have to like her ex. Jake thinks to himself.

"Ah, Jaeyun, stop overthinking it. Just call her," Sunghoon reassures, noticing that Jake is deep in thought.

"Hmmm," Jake stares at his phone for a second. "Yeah, fuck it."

Jake unlocks his phone, scrolling through his contacts to find your name. He pauses momentarily but clicks on the call button.
