The next day dawned with a sense of anticipation and nervous energy swirling in the air. Sage couldn't shake the events of the previous evening from her mind, the tension between herself and Ryder still lingering like a bitter aftertaste. But amidst the turmoil, there was a glimmer of hope, a spark of possibility that filled her with a newfound sense of optimism.

As Sage went about her morning routine, her thoughts kept drifting back to Connor. She couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement at the prospect of spending time alone with him, away from the distractions and drama of the outside world. And when her phone rang with a text from Connor, asking her out on a date, her heart skipped a beat with anticipation.

"Hey, Sage. I was thinking maybe we could grab lunch together today. Just you and me. What do you say?"

Sage felt a surge of warmth spread through her chest at Connor's words, her lips curling into a smile as she typed out her reply.

"I'd love to," she responded, her fingers flying over the keys with excitement. "Where and when?"

As she waited for Connor's response, Sage couldn't help but feel a sense of nervous excitement bubbling up inside her. This was it, she thought to herself. This was her chance to finally spend some quality time alone with Connor, away from the prying eyes and judgmental glances of the outside world.

When Connor texted back with the details of their lunch date, Sage's heart soared with anticipation. She quickly finished getting ready, her mind buzzing with thoughts of what the day might bring. And as she stepped out into the crisp afternoon air, her pulse quickened with every step she took towards the restaurant where she was meeting Connor.

As she approached the restaurant, Sage's heart pounded in her chest with nervous anticipation. She spotted Connor waiting for her outside, a warm smile lighting up his face as he caught sight of her. She felt a rush of excitement wash over her as she made her way towards him, her pulse quickening with every step she took.

"Hey, Connor," she greeted him, her voice tinged with excitement."Hey, Sage," Connor replied, his smile widening as he reached out to take her hand in his. "I'm so glad you could make it."

They made their way inside the restaurant, the scent of freshly cooked food wafting through the air as they found a quiet corner to sit and talk. As they chatted and laughed over lunch, Sage felt a sense of ease and comfort settle over her, as if she were exactly where she was meant to be.

And as the afternoon stretched into evening, Sage found herself falling more and more under Connor's spell. She laughed at his jokes, listened intently as he shared stories from his life, and felt a warmth spread through her chest every time their eyes met.

Connor and Sage enjoyed their lunch date together, the atmosphere was charged with excitement and anticipation. They laughed, shared stories, and savored each other's company, feeling a sense of ease and comfort in each other's presence.

As they finished their meal, Connor's gaze softened as he looked into Sage's eyes, a nervous but determined expression on his face. He took a deep breath, gathering his courage before speaking.

"Sage," he began, his voice tinged with emotion, "I've been meaning to tell you something."

Sage's heart skipped a beat as she looked back at him, her stomach fluttering with anticipation. She could sense that something important was about to happen, and she held her breath, waiting for Connor to continue.

"I know we've been friends for a long time," Connor continued, his voice growing stronger with each word. "But lately, I've realized that my feelings for you go beyond friendship. You mean the world to me, Sage, and I can't imagine my life without you in it."

Sage felt her cheeks flush with warmth as she listened to Connor's heartfelt confession, her heart swelling with emotion. She had hoped for this moment for so long, but hearing Connor express his feelings so openly and sincerely was more than she could have ever imagined.

"And so," Connor said, his voice soft but determined, "I was wondering if you would do me the honor of being my girlfriend?"

Sage's eyes widened in surprise, her heart pounding in her chest as she processed Connor's words. She had dreamed of this moment for so long, but now that it was finally here, she couldn't believe it was real.

"Yes, Connor," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I would love to be your girlfriend."A wide grin spread across Connor's face as he reached out to take Sage's hand in his, his eyes shining with joy and relief. He leaned in closer, pressing a gentle kiss to her lips, and Sage felt her heart soar as she melted into his embrace.

As they pulled away, their eyes met, and Sage knew that this was just the beginning of their journey together. Whatever challenges lay ahead, they would face them side by side, hand in hand, their love guiding them through every obstacle.

And as they walked out of the restaurant, their fingers intertwined and their hearts full of hope, Sage couldn't help but feel grateful for the unexpected twist of fate that had brought them together. This was the start of something beautiful, she knew, and she couldn't wait to see where life would take them next.
