Chapter Seven
____

"Wow, it seems like your first time inviting someone to go to a bar," Ameliana teased Viviane. "You didn't tell me, otherwise I would have dressed up," she added. Viviane was just wearing a black t-shirt, jeans, and white Nike shoes.

Ameliana is usually the one who enjoys going to bars, unlike Viviane who prefers reading medical books rather than going out. But it's different this time because Viviane herself initiated the invitation.

As soon as they entered the bar, they were greeted by a smoky, noisy, and chaotic crowd. Viviane never imagined herself entering a place like this, unless it was absolutely necessary.

Until she spotted Lorcan, slumped over the bar counter, seemingly intoxicated.

She quickly approached him, her voice filled with genuine concern. Lorcan slowly lifted his head, his eyes bloodshot and unfocused. He managed to mumble a response, but his words were slurred and barely comprehensible before he became unconscious.

"Oh, I thought we were going to have fun, but we're actually going to that jerk?!" exclaimed Ameliana. It turns out that he followed her.

"Ameliana, watch your language. Just help me out," Viviane said.

"Well, he really is a jerk. He forgot about you and even replaced you. What if we give him a good shake? Maybe it will jog his memory," Emeliana said angrily. But in the end, she also helped Viviane carry Lorcan towards their car.

"Seriously, that guy is so heavy. I feel like I'm lifting a sack of rice!" complained Ameliana, fanning herself with her hand even though the air conditioning was on.

"So, what are we going to do with him?" Ameliana asked. "Do you know where he lives now? Point him out to Lorgan." Viviane shook her head in response.

"We can't go to Aunt Lucia's place because it's far from here," Viviane replied.

"I know, let's just float him down the river so we can get back at him for deceiving you," Ameliana said with a hint of resentment.

"Please, stop joking like that, Em! It's not funny," Viviane responded.

"Tss, maybe because you're kind-hearted," Ameliana muttered under her breath. "If it were up to me, I'd bury him alive," she added.

Viviane gave her a disapproving look, and Ameliana flashed a peace sign in return.

"Okay, seriously, where should we take him?" Ameliana asked.

"We can take him to my condo," Viviane said, avoiding eye contact.

"Oh, so you have something bad planned for him, huh?" Ameliana teased.

Viviane sighed, feeling a mix of frustration and exhaustion. "No, Ameliana, it's not like that," she replied. "I just think it's best to get him somewhere safe and comfortable so he can sober up."

Ameliana raised an eyebrow, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. "Alright, I'll play along. But remember, I've got your back," she said, her tone filled with a mix of sarcasm and genuine concern.

Together, they carefully maneuvered Lorcan into the backseat of Viviane's car. Ameliana couldn't help but complain about his weight once again, while Viviane focused on driving safely to her condo.
